They have a great QB and they spread you out. Big target for a TE and speedy receivers. If you play a soft zone like MICDS did against Smithville in 2021, they will carve you up like what happened in that semifinal game. Gotta play physical!

Most of them were, maybe not all of them though. Also could have been the lighting. Looked like dark gold on a dark-ish Royal Blue, not that it matters, just not aesthetically pleasing. Pants looked weird. But the field looked fantastic, though I am partial to natural grass.

Some of the best football in the state is played within a 25 mile radius of Kansas City and we make it work, probably works against some teams until they decide to get better. One thing it has done is the coaching up here has parlayed several guys into good college jobs and that probably happens again this year. Good coaches change culture and makes good young men, some towns have not figured that out yet there are places that better athletes walking the halls then they have on the field.

I prefer close games first then spread out. Teams strengths change year to year. Can't predict how good a team is before the start.

That would be hard in a 7 to 8 team district setting unless you broke Springfield up into 3 different districts 2 with kc teams and 1 with south central to central teams but then we have the travel complaint again. No perfect answer for all

If you got enough boys you can make it work, but that number could change quickly. Main thing is that are playing football.

3 loss...words matter. On the road in the SEC is a grind. Mizzou got pummeled by bama,tam but beats Auburn,ou and vandy who beat the former. The portal and the NIL has created much needed parity.

I made my last comment in jest but looked it up anyways . I stated the year I was born (1985) every single d1 player from Webb has at least 1 state championship. Some have 3 . The difference between a d1 player and an average HS or at least decent player is night and day . Imagine have a team full of power 5 kids and not winning shit . Hell Carthage had a kid that couldn't cut it at air force and it made them almost impossible to beat . One skill guy especially thats power 5 is all you need . If you can't do it with a dozen of them then please don't sign up to coach my son's flag football game

Are you referring to Odessa? Odessa's margin of error was razor thin all season. Heck, they only had like 33 kids suited up against Harrisonville. So I'm glad they made it this far! That team is young though. Next season could be major steps forward
