Game was played AT the old Fulton high school...no Show Me Bowl in those days...featured two Mizzou players....one for each team

In the WHITE jerseys for Richmond, #15 Blaine Henningson (QB & DE)..,later played DE at Mizzou.

In the BLACK jerseys for Fulton, #35 Tony Galbreath (TB)...played RB at Mizzou and later in the NFL for the Saints & Giants.

ENJOY!

Labor Day 1975. Mizzou played at #2 Alabama on national TV and pulled a 20-7 upset. Galbreath was the offensive star but Henningson along with a NW Mo small town kid, Keith Morrisey from Gallatin, led a defense that shut down the Tide. I was a senior at MU that year and I remember (I think) the goal posts at the Memorial Stadium being torn down that night.

Boy it looked like some serious mismatches on the line, both sides!

There is something wrong with this film. I see 6,7 men on offense with their hand on the ground at the snap. You can see almost both teams in the whole frame at a time. Nobody all spread out?! And the qb is obviously lining up wrong, he’s not back in the shotgun.

Love this. Close your eyes and you can hear the old reel tape clicking. Fulton looks to be running the Bum Phillips offense, the line Bob Hope said about Bum.....he has the perfect play call for every situation, a handoff to Earl Campbell. Announcer must have called “handoff to Galbreath about 4 of every 5 plays! Give the ball to your stud!

I will remember that game as long as I live or until senility overcomes me, whichever first occurs. Was partying with lots of friends, including some Alabama transplants who really had their needles out when that game began, and oh how sweet when we could turn those needles around. The Bama friends still talk about that game and how we handled them. Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

76 for Richmond is Rick Wrisinger. He went on to play football at William Penn in Iowa. At 6'3" and 300+ lbs. he was the #1 player on the tennis team at William Penn for 4 years also.

He was my high school business teacher. He was also my boss when I taught at Orrick. He was a great teacher and friend. RIP Rick Wrisinger.
