You have the best back and you throw it

Worst

Decision

Ever

Not really even sure how you justify it. They had a timeout left in case he got stopped short. Running the ball lets you control how much time you want to keep on the clock too. Really no excuse for it.

This is just sad, as I said, I didn't watch the game , playing cards with friends. But in the last minute, we got up from the card table and was going to watch lynch run it in to win the sb, what kind of IDIOT would call a pass play on 2nd and one?

I hate the NFL

It would have been pretty hard to rig the catch that got em down there and pretty hard to rig the interception. Looked to me like the defender knocked the receiver off the ball to make the interception. Isn't contact like that with the ball in the air called pass interference?

Now the burning question is how long Will Darrell Bevell have a job in the NFL?

The contact made by the defender to get the interception would have been called pass interference if happened at the 50 yard line.

No it wouldn't, he was playing the ball. The defender
has as much right to the ball as the reciever. He didn't
go through the reciever he went through his arms with
his.

It's still contact with the ball in the air. He was coming from behind and hit the receiver pretty good to get to the ball.

Sorry to disappoint. Lynch said its a team game and they lost as a team.

LOL Emmit Smith just tweeted " worse play I have
ever seen in Football"...

I just went back and watch the interception 5 more times. It was a clean interception. Collinsworth and Michaels would have been all over it and they never said a word about anything to do with PI.

It's like you didn't even see the play; of course he went through the receiver(it was interference...)

...but the call to pass it from the 1 yard line with half a minute left and a timeout in your back pocket was the far worse than the NO-call on the PI...

I don't necessarily agree with 3peat on a lot of things but it was definitely not PI. The fact that he intercepted the ball cleanly shows he was playing the ball. He had as much right to catch the ball as the WR.

Run the ball and Seahawks are repeat champs.

Mitsy, what were you watching? That clearly wasn't pass interference. I wish they would have called it that way, cuz I hate New England, but it didn't happen and so they didn't.

The Seahawks season is now officially deflated. KC held them on 4th down 3 times.

Sounds crazy but they said 5 times this season
lynch had had a carry from the 1 yard line and
only once he scored. Wonder if the D coordinator
going to the Falcons will hurt Seattles Legion
Of Boom?

I saw that too, but I would say 90% chanc he scores on either second and one or third and one. You have to at least give him the shot. For the super bowl?? He isn't going to be stopped

So he did have something to say? I'm guessing
he is thinking other things like some of his teammates
like Chancellor said not tweeted. " best back and we
don't use him".

Man, Carrol is a great coach, but that is going to go down as one of the all-time worst play calls in the Super Bowl. They still had a timeout to burn.

Why even put the ball over the middle?! At the minimum put out on a slant where only the WR has a play on it. Too much risk across the middle. SMH.

There is no way that is pass interference, no matter where on the field it happens... there was some contact but the DB has as much right to the ball as the receiver, and it was NOT directly through the receiver.

As for the play call... I agree I would have ran the ball, but in FIVE chances this year from the one yard line. Lynch was only able to score ONCE. It was not a given he could have got in.

Carrol will now be remembered for two huge calls that didn't go his way and cost him a championship. The 06 Rose Bowl when he went for it on 4th down near midfield and Texas gets the stop and goes down and scores to win the Natty. And then the decision to throw the ball last night that cost him a Super Bowl.. I will say, both were two of the better games I've ever watched. The Rose Bowl for sure.

And there's no way that's PI, the defender made a great jump on the ball and he has just as much of a shot to make a play on the ball as the WR does. Besides, the WR had T-Rex arms and didn't make much effort to make the catch.

If the encroachment/brawl had not broken out, what would the Pats have done in that situation? Try a QB sneak to get out of the end zone? I believe taking a knee right there would have resulted in a safety?

I lost money on this one to my wife. That makes a china cabinet and a couple of dinners over the years. I also believe in pre-determination on a lot of things. I think New England was pre-determined to win this one. Lynch would have just fumbled.

My buddy had $25 bucks in on a square. (8) for new England and (1) for Seattle. That interception cost him $1000.

OUCH The kid did his homework and took a chance. He is on his way to Disneyland. Plus a man with everything was giving a new red truck, the world ain't
fair.

The rich get richer.

The defense no doubt has a right to the ball but they cannot knock the receiver off the ball to get to it. They have to get in front of the receiver to make the play without interference. He knocked that dude 3 yards and made the pick. Can you really tell me if that play had happened in the regular season, or had happened on the 50 yard line, that wouldn't draw a flag?

Did you see Seattle argue or just see Wilson put his head down and walk off the field? No pass interference.
