Wow

I’m just curious if anyone can give an example of systemic racism in todays age?

I’ll start.

DESE distributes a portion of its funds based on attendance as opposed by enrollment. This has had a major impact on low income school district who typically have lower attendance rates as opposed to our suburban areas of the state like St Louis and Jackson counties.

From anti-discrimination lawsuits to sexual assault prosecutions—courts or government officials have declined to view Black women as a class worthy of protection because they may experience a unique kind of discrimination or abuse.

Systemic racism is not overt. That’s the issue. It’s far worse because it’s hard to point to something concrete, so people say, “see, it doesn’t exist.”
What.... so you can't find anything concrete or provable put you say it is baked into the system? To me that is a stretch... do people have prejudiced idea's that are often subconscious? Yes and that can very well account for some of the appears of systemic racism being built into the system but that is not the truth, Laws and Policy make that illegal. If individual people within the system make biased decisions that is not systemic racism, it's not the system that has been set up, it is the individuals who are implementing the system.

In fact Toots gave a prime example of Individual bias as opposed to Systemic racism when he pointed out that Blacks get longer Prison sentences for the same criminal act..... That is 100% on the judges who do the sentencing, there are several studies that have been done on that. It's real and wrong but that is on the individual not the system.

Literally Federal law(Fair Housing Act/CRA) outlaws Redlining so clearly that is not hardwired in the system. If Banks do that it's illegal and done with individual prejudice. CRA is suppose to Track how often loans are approved and denied.

I'm not denying that individuals within the system make biased and prejudiced decisions, but that is not ever going to Go away, Ever it's human nature and will always be with us to some degree. All types of biased and prejudice exist it can be toward political parties, Height, Weight, Physical appearance, etc. not just race.

All that can be done is to make the system fair for all in a legal manner and that has been done and then hope those implementing the system are not biased/prejudiced in making decisions implementing the system. And if they do then they are caught punished and replaced.

Blame the people not the system.... Blaming the system is lazy and fixes nothing.

Yeah that's bullshit.

Ok, I see the problem here. You think that the system and the individual people within the system are somehow separate. Let me clear it up for you: the individual people make up the system. They are one and the same. There is no "system" without the people that make it up. So I blame the people...that make up the system.

If something is widespread, it’s systemic. Even if the problem isn’t specifically legislated. People in the system are allowing it to happen. The system has failed.

The system hasn't failed and it's not wide spread.... if you can prove other wise then I am waiting.

If you have Minorities at all levels of society including the highest levels of everything, Govt, Entertainment, HealthCare, Education, Corporate Boards/CEO's,Military etc.. Then Racism is not systemic at all through out the system. To say so is Ludicrous.

A system full of racism and racist people would not allow people who they hate to achieve that level of success and their positions of power, they would make sure by working within the system they occupy to thwart those achievements.

You seem to think that Because people of color in social economically depressed area's have not achieved a Level of success satisfactory to your liking that it is because of racism. A easy and erroneous scape goat.
