If I were a cop now, I think I would go out and purchase my own bodycam, to CMA.
There is going to have to be some leadership in our nation right now, or things are going to continue to escalate.

Why on earth would you do that? If you've learned anything from Mike Brown and Eric Garner, it is that you can already act with impunity. Why would you do the one thing that maybe could mess it up?

No, I think the forensic evidence at the car is quite compelling.

But, if Wilson somehow did act with impunity, perhaps later in the street, we have no good proof that he did otherwise. That is my point. Police receive substantially all the benefit of the doubt right now from prosecutors and grand juries. All the camera can do is remove some of that benefit. Why on earth would you sign up for that as an officer unless you were forced to do so?

If you act appropriately, wouldn't you want that evidence?
Right now, if any black man is shot by a cop, it is going to get ugly without some evidence to support a cops decision to act.
If you are wrong, apparently it doesn't matter, because the video didn't seem to hurt the guy in NYC.

It's going to get ugly even if there is video.

There's video evidence that Mike Brown robbed a store, yet plenty of people deny that fact.

Your last point is scary and it's why I'm really bothered by the Garner incident.
