Windsor Needs a Game

It's was supposed to be Windsor's homecoming so they really want to play at home. And before you ask, Windsor has been on the road the last four weeks and while they did have a home game in week 4 they had started working on a new track and it's really wasn't in shape to host a homecoming. It would have been great for Russellville or Sherwood to agree to come play Windsor but they wouldn't for one reason or another.
How the heck did you end up with 4 in a row on the road??

Nobody wants to play on the cow pasture at Windsor anyways. Any run to the sideline the ball carrier will actually get going downhill.

When is the Kansas City sprawl going to hit Lone Jack? That's a town that you always think is right on the edge of blowing up population wise.
Pretty much every possible acre of country land is already bought and zoned. There is no way to build anywhere else.

Remember a couple of years ago when Versailles canceled on Blair Oaks? Lapage went on the road 3 hrs plus to play a high-ranked Catholic School in a town named after a saint.(The man has balls of steel thinking he can beat God on the road).

Blair Oaks lost a "50 game" winning streak(I forget the actual number) by taking that game on short notice with no prep time. That is why Blair Oaks is a great program and the teams tucking tail in the thread are not.

Well sherwood and russelville weren't on here talking :)

Best of luck to all teams
Well I wasn’t aware of the Gallatin offer. Don’t live in Windsor, never have and never will, and I’m also not “in the know” on this situation

only information I had was what was provided to me via this thread by others who were posting.

so excuse me for thinking it was impractical for two teams that are 38 miles apart, and the same classification, to not play when they both need a game. How dare I

so essentially, I found out about the Gallatin offer at the same time as you.

Sherwood literally has nothing to gain by playing.

Man I knew as soon as I saw that 'grow a set' post something was going to happen. It always does.

Well in the end, we all got the information we needed about the situation.
windsor need not complain about people not playing them if they had an offer on the table that they themselves refused.

i understand why Sherwood wouldn’t want to jeopardize their 3 seed just as I understand why Windsor wouldn’t want to play a team that pretty much turboed a top 10 class 2 team recently. Last week I think.

none of the those teams obviously wanted a game that bad.

Sherwood's seniors would get to play a game they otherwise wouldn't. That is reason enough to play.

At the end of the day the only one it sounds like with "the stones" is Coach Holt in Gallatin... though I heard Rockhurst tried to add them this week instead of Harmon and Holt said no thanks...

By that logic, so would Windsor and Gallatin's seniors they otherwise wouldnt...
True, but I was responding to this specific statement, "Sherwood literally has nothing to gain by playing." All the seniors on all teams are down to their last few games which makes each game that much more precious.

I would say these decisions are being based on the fact that all these games would be exhibition. The originally scheduled opponent is a forfeit and any added game would not replace the 13-0 Forfeit. So you can't blame schools for not adding exhibition games the week before Districts especially against unknown opponents.

I still think I would want to play, but if you have injuries or people banged up like most teams do this time of year, you may rest up and get fresh for when they count.

Did you ever see the crown on Adkins Stadium before turf? If you stood on one sideline you literally could not see the yard markers on the other sideline. Great setup for Pete's ground oriented offense and if a passing team came to town they inexplicably keep sailing out routes over the receiver's heads. Go figure.

I'd have to check with our friends in Columbia but I don't think it counts as a forfeit win if you take another game... it should though.

Everybody has to make their own decisions based on their own reasoning. Satisfying the self-righteous among us is not good reasoning.

Forfeited Games: Are defined as those games scheduled and never contested, or games started but not concluded because one team refuses to complete the contest. a. See Section 4.C regarding the application of the point system for forfeits. b. If a game is forfeited before it starts: i. The team receiving the forfeit may seek a new opponent for the week and no points will be awarded to either team. The game should be marked as an exhibition. ii. The team giving the forfeit shall not be permitted to seek a new game.

The last couple of years because of Covid, teams that canceled weren't charged with a forfeit. If you were able to get another opponent it wasn't an exhibition. That is no longer the case and things have reverted back to the forfeit rule as stated above.

I vote for Windsor vs Gallatin since Gallatin is being nice enough to travel to give Windsor their Homecoming/Senior night.

Was you told by someone that Gallatin would come to Windsor and play? Was they scheduled to have their Senior night tomorrow at home?

Yes someone in this thread who i believe would know stated they offered to come to windsor and got turned down.

I'm not sure about Gallatin's senior night.

Lone Jack & Princeton have both been dropped from their district on MSHSAA. So Gallatin and Butler will get a bye next week
