Medal of Honor goes with this kind of courage to save a fallen brother
The NFL is a private business. The players are employees. They do not have "the right" to do what they want. They have a contract.
by cru66 - the military doesn't own the anthem, its for everybody. shouldn't be sung at sporting events anyway,
by me - If the anthem isnt sung at sporting events where the hell they gonna learn it? We always at school events where I was did the pledge and sang the anthem to begin the day. So basically it covered all school events. Prayer over the loudspeaker has been taken away already and look at the results since that. I'm not trying to start more debate folks but the more we cave in and give up our moral rights, the worse things will get.
the military doesn't own the anthem, its for everybody. shouldn't be sung at sporting events anyway,I'm there to watch a game. don't recall the it being sung at many of my daughters school functions. freedom means standing, kneeling, talking on the phone, playing grab ass etc.
GEEEEEZ people! Sometimes I just want to shake you Left Wing whackos until you come to your senses! Even with this countries flaws, this is an anthem to show RESPECT for the greatest nation on EARTH! Being a citizen of this nation is NOT a RIGHT, it's a PRIVILEGE! And freedom is NOT FREE! I had a teenager tell me a coupla years ago, when it looked as though we may be going to a big war again in the Middle East! That it was unconstitutional to have a DRAFT! And besides, it wasn't in his plans to be in the military! I nearly PUKED in DISGUST! It is EVERY male's obligation in this nation, to defend it's shores! Everyday of the year, EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR, twenty four hours a day! ! Hundreds of thousands of men and women in the armed forces of the United States of America, stand to salute our flag in hostile territories! I spent two Christmas eves in a combat zone in Vietnam! The average person has no clue how lucky they are to have someone defending THEIR rights, to be an AMERICAN! I'll never forget the time we came back after a pretty hairy mission into the North! And when we got back to base, and I saw the stars and stripes flying over a foreign land. It sent chills up my spine with patriotism! TOO bad that it seems that that mindset is quickly fading away.
This issue drives me crazy. It is hypocritical of anyone who lives in this country and is proud and grateful for the freedoms we have to not allow those freedoms to apply to everyone. I would never sit or wear my hat during the playing of the National Anthem, but I must understand that not everyone is obligated to feel the same way.
Actually if you are born here, it is a right.
Live and let live. Number of unarmed men shot by Kaepernick: 0. He took a knee during a song to call attention to a problem. The fabricated outrage by you snowflakes is laughable. If you had ignored him, you would have won.

SO, I'M a SNOWFLAKE?
the military doesn't own the anthem, its for everybody. .
There's no easy solution. I would have three or more National Anthems. One to honor America, one to recognize the kneelers position, one for all the victims in America, one for all the people that will die in their lifetime. No they don't "own" it, but I'm willing to guarantee the average veteran appreciates the flag and the anthem more than the average civilian who has never sacrificed ANYTHING for this country.
I can live without an overpayed pro athlete, I can live without some dude with an overinflated ego on a message board, but every freedom I (and you) enjoy comes directly off the blood, sweat, tears, and personal sacrifice of every American serviceman who has ever donned the uniform.
Anyone forgetting that simple truth is probably a clueless Democrat.

Soooooooo, who wants to debate the benefits of an odd vs an even front on defense?![]()
KCHI I need your annual expert take on the MEC: For what it is worth I am thinking everyone not named Maryville is playing for second.Soooooooo, who wants to debate the benefits of an odd vs an even front on defense?![]()
Lots of questions marks in the MEC, new coaches, schools hit hard by graduation. Here's a quick overview in no particular orderKCHI I need your annual expert take on the MEC: For what it is worth I am thinking everyone not named Maryville is playing for second.
Thanks as always! FYI on Pius they have been what I would call "middle of the road" in the now defunct West Central conference. I do, however, think they could contend for second in what you describe as a very transitional MEC season (outside of the Maryville machine). The MEC's loss this year is the Suburban Blue's gain as I am (letting out one of my 2018 teams to watch) very high on Smithville this fall.Lots of questions marks in the MEC, new coaches, schools hit hard by graduation. Maryville - lot of talent back from state championship. Should be very good again
Savannah - had a lot of underclassmen talent last year, should be pretty salty
Cameron - hoping for improvement. Cancelled soccer due to low numbers
St Joe LeBlond - very low numbers.. will hang in and field a team with 18 players from what I've heard.
Benton - another new coach.. 3rd in three years, lot of starters back, will miss Cooper Burton
Lafayette - Graduated good talent, also a new coach, couple of starters back on each side
St Pius - new to the MEC, I know nothing about how they have been the last few years
Chillicothe - new head coach, lots of new assistant coaches, graduated every offensive starter and 8 defensive starters. Will be young with several underclassmen starters that understand the Chillicothe tradition.
Guess what new guy. My dad fought in WWII long before you were born. Then he came back home and fought for a 40 hour work week and over time pay you probably enjoy. After working the night shift, he got off and opened his business and worked until the afternoon when he finally got some shut eye. He was what you might call a clueless democrat. He served his country. Worked like a beast and put 5 kids thru college and would laugh at your making a big deal out of someone taking a knee during a song.
Smithville has a stud running back.. think he was a Soph last year. He's one to keep an eye on IMOThanks as always! And a returning QB plus virtually all of the defense. The key will be how they react to their schedule and can they get over the "Highway 92" hump. Platte County and Kearney are likely (shall again see this Friday) to be conference and district opponents and both are well stocked coming into 2018.Smithville has a stud running back.. think he was a Soph last year. Yes. You are a blustering bag of wind. Very much like your president bone spurs. Another internet tough guy.
Some friendly advice. Avoid conversations with this individual.Percentage of change since Kap took a knee? 0% Where’s Kap at? Where’s the DC protests of police brutality? Where’s the off-season day in and day out work to change supposed outrageous police brutality? You see, it pointless. He’s either seeking attention, or not really that serious. In fact all of these protestors who are taking a knee don’t seem to be willing to put in work that actually creates change. Protesting to simply protest is quite a waste of time, and people who say it’s offensive have more ground imo. Obama was in office in 2015. Why didn’t he make a chnage? This is all nonsense. Get off your knee and play the game.
This is a lively debate and yours truly could get involved but wish this would move to the Political forum. I am focused squarely on what is going to commence one week from Friday night.I’m a veteran and did my thing in both Afghanistan and Iraq. I fought for freedoms of people, whether they were us citizens or not.
No type of religion should be allowed at any public school.... This includes prayers before and after games
Does that include the religion of secular humanism and the belief system that comes with it? And don't tell me it isn't a religion...it requires faith in many unproven things.
Well, it is football players that made this a political thing. This is a lively debate and yours truly could get involved but wish this would move to the Political forum. I am focused squarely on what is going to commence one week from Friday night.
Oh don't doubt for one second I don't realize that, miller, and I have very, very sharp opinions about it. I just prefer to talk about it on another forum not here. That is all............Well, it is football players that made this a political thing.
