Why wasn't the Jackson QB who they won the state title with recruited by anybody?

Cael Welker. This has been a baffling mystery to me Tollison their OT went to Mizzou, McDowell and Norman went to SEMO, and I think they had a couple more from that class get recruited but Welker seems like he was almost criminally overlooked. Did he even have offers? Was he one of those kids that had no aspirations to play football after high school maybe?

Sounds stupid, but he is 6'0" and 180lbs. And most of the mooks that look a players go for metrics based on an archetype for their position. QB metrics call for a bigger guy.

Welker is really 5-9, 5-10 and had a couple of small school offers. He's now a student at SEMO.
