Why is Duchesne not ranked in Class 1? They are 5-3 but they have not played any Class 1 teams. Their only losses were against Lift for Life (without 2 top players because of suspension from incident in playoff game last year), Cardinal Ritter and St. Mary's. They may even lose their last game against MICDS, but they are a legitimate contender in Class 1. Can someone explain why they are not ranked?

In the big game of life, does it really matter? The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind, and it's this: Not just no, but hell no.

Not sure, I mean? Let’s be real… all of STL should be ranked. And I for one demand it to be. I might be making a little trip to figure this shit out. Sick of it. What would rankings be without greater STL being involved in all classes?!? Duchesne has proven the past two years they are not to be trifled with. Very impressive runs to the championship.

What's their best win this year?

WINS: #5325 St. Francis Borgia Best win in Class 1 outside of East Buch beating Mid Buch. Duschesne has played BY FAR the hardest schedule of anyone in Class 1 so far overall. And it isn't close.

The good thing is, the rankings are just a subjective, biased assessment. It has nothing to do with the postseason results.

Not that it matters at all but for arguments sake, Monroe City beating two ranked class 2 teams handily is as good as EB beating that MB team. Also, Gallatin putting it on Trenton like that is as quality as what EB did to MB. As far as Duchesne, yes they have the toughest schedule of any Class 1 school.

I think it’s fair to say Macon and Centerila were both ranked to a degree or another based on class 2 being top heavy, and once you get past 6-7 it’s a big BIG drop off. There’s layers to the rankings and whatever the rest is. MC is sometimes a class 2 school, so it’s not real difficult to imagine if they are well put together this year they could beat those two. I wasn’t thinking either were that good. MC should be favorites to win class 1.

Agree with Class 2 being top heavy. I would consider East Buchanan to be the favorites to win Class 1. They won fairly handily last year and brought back most of their best players. They pounded a pretty good team last week in Mid-Buchanan.

Interesting. Ok

If not for political correctness.... Valle would be the clear number 1!

They may not even be number 1 in their district the way it looks

This everyone needs a trophy philosophy is killing sports these days. Can't beat somebody, work harder.
Or have your classification artificially kept low by not admitting kids needing IEPs, EMO kids and the ones that switch schools 3 times a year.

Also helps with 80%+ of your student body plays football.
