Why didn't the Dems steal this election too?

Why didn’t you address toots for his one pic of one chain as proof the economy is wonderful and better?

I was just using his tactics in his post right back at him. Then when called out he wants to flip script and go into a deep dive, it’s very entertaining no doubt.

And it truth I don’t disagree with all of his points. Trump did contribute with his Democratic spending and Biden piled on 10 fold.

But the truth is working class folks have less income to spend on luxury and leisure time activities. And chain restaurants who unlike independent restaurants can weather bad times better are even being affected.

Also I will point out that comparing inflation across economic systems and countries is a bit dubious. I didn’t find any of their baseline models on that site.

You are right, working people do have less income to spend. We've been stuck that way since the 70's, adjusted for inflation. You know what hasn't been stuck? CEO pay. That is mostly Republican policy manifesting, though Bill Clinton certainly had a part in it. There is a reason that the economy was booming and expanding for everyone back when CEO pay wasn't 200 times what their workers make.

When our tax rate on the rich was sky high, we were spending on infrastructure like mad men, and unions were at their peak, our middle class was strong and our economy was great. Rich people had plenty of wealth, but not obscene wealth.

It isn't dubious when you are showing that the entire developed world is going through similar inflation. Guess what? I bet it would show something similar during Trump's first term: that every country in the developed world was improving economically before he was elected and the trend continued until the pandemic. We are currently on a steep downward trend with inflation (as is most of the rest of the developed world), so if it carries on through Trump's term, and it likely will, I can guarantee it will attributed to him and his policies in the minds of his followers. It is a political game.

It's almost like when the money is distributed more widely, rather than concentrated, that our economy thrives for everyone.

On that I agree but the Dems have done nothing but support that as well…what did Biden do to reinstate wealthy tax breaks as opposed to maintaining them?
