If an mlb team frequently throws to the wrong base allowing the opponent to move an extra runner into scoring position, whose fault is it? Multiple players? The manager? A position coach?

Something that basic has to fall on the player! My lord they have been getting drilled on those types of plays since they were 7. I Jhate watching Honny bat with RISP. You just know he is not going to get the hit!!!!Uhgggggggggg:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Somebody, anybody has to be yelling at Grichy to throw the ball to 3rd. The guy would have been out by 10 feet.

Primarily the player but there is some coaching aspect to it for sure.

That is something that we coach every day, and we are only in high school. I understand high school players making bad choices, but for the life of me I can't understand how you make those same poor choices when you are a professional.

It's difficult to imagine he hasn't heard this for 15+ years straight by now

Grich doesn't strike me as being the sharpest knife in the drawer. He can hit a meatball really hard and he's fast enough to recover from bad jumps in the OF. But anything that requires some thinking seems to be difficult.

There should be a couple of other players screaming at him where to throw the ball. I didn't see any of that on the replays or even hear the commentators mention if they did or did not do so.
