Who would win if the best in Missouri Class 4 and Class 5 had a play off? [/B]Here is some perspective; Class 4 Incarnate Word Academy and Class 5 Liberty, both in the Final Four this weekend, squared off in last summer's championship match in the Belton edition of the [/B]Licking Summer Camps. [/B][/B]

[/B]

IWA won a well-played and hard fought contest, [/B]51-44. [/B]IWA's U Conn bound [/B]Napheesa Collier [/B]was chosen camp MVP. IWA sophomore [/B]Naomi Johnson [/B]joined her on the all-camp team. Liberty was represented on the all-camp team by talented junior [/B]Morgan Fleming[/B]. These outstanding young ladies will no doubt go on to illustrious college careers. [/B]

[/B]

Since 1993, over [/B]250,000 young ladies [/B]have participated in the Licking Summer Camps. Many stepped to the next level; on to outstanding [/B]college careers, NCAA championships, the WNBA and even the Olympics. [/B]

[/B]

To be the best, you must play the best. Tired of playing the same old teams over and over again all summer, the same one's you see during the season? That will not happen at Licking Summer Camps. Over [/B]900 teams participated last summer from 12 different states. [/B]

[/B]

Listed below are the [/B]51 District/Regional winners and the 11 who qualified for state final four play. [/B]We have already had two state champs crowned; [/B]Sequoya, OK and Park Hills Central, MO. [/B]We hope to crown several more this upcoming weekend and will post the updated list next week. If we have left anyone out, please let us know.[/B]

[/B]

If you want to stand on the championship platform next March, it starts today and the road to the state title runs through [/B]Licking Summer Camps[/B]. See our website: [/B]www.lickingcamps.com[/B] for all the information you need, or call us anytime at [/B]636-232-4688.[/B]

IWA for sure the past couple of years. There are way too many classes in all sports. Basketball in a state the size of MO should be set at 3. Too many teams with 7-10 losses playing in the final fours. Just saying.

On the boys side Springfield Hillcrest entered district play with a record of 12-11 and will play for the class 4 state title on Saturday. I'll bet the teams they have beat along the way would disagree that they don't belong in the Final 4. It's all about who's playing their best basketball at the right time.

when you are 12-11 for the season and end up playing for the state title, there are too many classes. Watered Down. Arkansas has 16 teams in Class 7A. That is not a state tournament, it is an Christmas Invitational. Have you ever seen a state decrease the number of state classification? I haven't. More state tournaments, more income.

Or maybe they did what you're supposed to do and got better throughout the season. I thought 4 classes was enough myself but that takes nothing away from what Hillcrest did finishing 2nd in the state. Incarnate Word girls lost 2 of their first 3 games this year but they didn't lose anymore.

The large school champion this year, Rock Bridge, was at best, the third best team in Missouri. Class 2 Crane destroyed RB by 15 in Feb. Should limit to three classes.

And class 3 St.James beat Crane then lost to class 4 Dexter who was VERY young this year and lost in their sectional game to North County who got beat handily by MICDS in the quarterfinal. You can play that game all over the the place, it's all about who is the best on any given night, not how many classes we have. But I'm sure the schools with a 1 or 2 hundred kids would love to be in a district with schools that have 5 or 6 hundred kids.

notice the attendance at this year's state? I must not be the only one who thinks it is watered down. I had no interest this year. Class 5 was as weak as I have ever seen it.

Tell that to the folks from KC and St.Charles, I hear they had a very good turnout, including their student sections. I have no idea what excuse the adults and students from Rock Bridge had for being elsewhere, after all they weren't play Crane.

Just think that overall the play at state has gone down the last few years. it is like playing in a cave. the sectionals and 1/4 finals just seem to have a much greater atmosphere when played in smaller venues. I like the games on TV, but I wonder how that has effected attendance?

That has nothing to do with the number of classes, the Final 4 will be in Columbia whether we have 3 classes or 6. Personally I think the 3 day tournament makes it considerably more expensive to attend and has an affect on attendance.

The 3 day schedule has tons to do with attendance. They need to figure out how to get it all in in two. Play games all day or at the Hearnes all day as well. It could be done.
