Schools/Conferences that have Boys and Girls games on different nights and they have JV followed by Varsity or Schools/Conferences that have Girls and Boys varsity the same night?
Personally as a head coach, I wanted the JV?V double headers so I could be there to help develop the younger players. If not, I may be at practice and not be able to make a lot of the JV games.Schools/Conferences that have Boys and Girls games on different nights and they have JV followed by Varsity or Schools/Conferences that have Girls and Boys varsity the same night?
This. If you have JV teams, they need to play on the same night as V. If not, then play girls/boys. Isn't this the way it normally is? I know I've been at a few places where we'd combine for a night or two during the season...but even then it was a quad-header. Those are ok when done in extreme moderation.Personally as a head coach, I wanted the JV?V double headers so I could be there to help develop the younger players. One year it was v double headers with 1 JV game. Then on the away game the opposite JV played their game. Some nights my JV coach would be gone 4 nights to games and 5 sometimes if 1 team was in a tournament.This. If you have JV teams, they need to play on the same night as V. That's got to be the silliest thing I've ever heard in regards to scheduling. Wow.One year it was v double headers with 1 JV game. Then on the away game the opposite JV played their game. Some nights my JV coach would be gone 4 nights to games and 5 sometimes if 1 team was in a tournament.
Very true! With the 6 quarter rule, it suits the program best for boys to play all levels on same night.
Six qtrs per night. Five qtrs per varsity contest played for season total.it's not 6 quarters anymore....it's 5 quarters per scheduled varsity contest, excluding tournaments...so it's a little more like 5 quarters a night..with some flexibility
Agreed, I get that. Just saying that six qtrs is still a rule, max per night.so, they can't play 6 quarters every night... we are both right
A lot of small schools do not have a secondary gymDoubleheaders are pretty rare nowadays as tripleheaders are commoner. I don't see why you couldn't just play Varsity Girls w/ JV Boys in the secondary gymnasium followed by Varsity Boys w/ JV Girls in the secondary gymnasium.
VERY few schools of any size in semo area have that.A lot of small schools do not have a secondary gym
