Home of the Cubs!!
I was trying to look back and it seems like last time it was practically in May that they came out. I know DESE enrollment numbers for funding is on their sight. Are those numbers submitted again and then re calibrated again by Mshsaa schools for classifications? I just don't understand why it takes so long for this to come out with all the technology we have today. Its not like the old days were you needed to manually punch all this information in?

And just spit balling here but again with all the technology we have today that can track student enrollment almost every day and with the newer play off system were everybody is in so schedules with teams in districts no longer need to be made years in advance like when your last three teams played needed to be your district opponents. Why not reclassify at the start of each year? Turn in your enrollment in the first three weeks and in about a month you have your classification and are put in a district based on your geographical location? and then if or when some schools drop football or to 8-man you can adjust each year. Just seems like doing it on a two year cycle is no longer needed with the technology and new play off system.

I like this idea a lot! And agreed, I don't why it takes so long

Reactions: O line wins games
I think the main reason for the two year cycle is to allow for a home and away contract.

You could still do that anyway. Your first 9 games you can play whoever you want and what does it matter to your district. You still are in and seeded on points based off wins and loses you never have to play anybody in your district.

I thought it was in March last time. And, had heard that they were going to release them in January this time... but I could EASILY be wrong about both.

It could have been but that just seems like a really long time away considering your numbers have been turned into DESE for funding already? If you want to wait that long why not just wait till next year? Crazy
