They don't need a one year deal for anyone. You talk about improving your defense and team speed!! Adams and ???????

Not a bit...I'm awful at this stuff...but lets say...Adams and two of Weaver/Lyons/Mayers/Cooney/Gonzales? But I have a feeling that's not enough. You think he has actual trade value?
You're looking at Weaver and another top 5 prospect. Likely Bader, so KC can plug him into CF when he's ready. Not a bit...I'm awful at this stuff...but lets say...Adams and two of Weaver/Lyons/Mayers/Cooney/Gonzales? But I have a feeling that's not enough.
Heck, I wouldn't consider him the centerpiece if it were just him and Weaver. Bader's too expensive...What is he? A year away as is? Idk...Maybe if it's a sign and trade. You're looking at Weaver and another top 5 prospect. Likely Bader, so KC can plug him into CF when he's ready.
Cain is making $11 million next year, which is cheap for the overall production you could get from him. KC won't be moving him for a trade where Adams is the centerpiece. He's not playing 1st in KC....ever. And they won't use a DH who can't hit anything from the left side if his life depended on it. He's more likely to be DFA than traded
Cubs gave up Torres (+) for 3 months of Chapman. Torres was the Cubs #1 and likely a Top 10-15 overall prospect in the league for 2017.Heck, I wouldn't consider him the centerpiece if it were just him and Weaver. Bader's too expensive...What is he? You'd be getting a 3-6 WAR CF. It's going to be pricey, especially when the 1 year of LoCain is only $11M. And trying to take him from your instate rival who is trying to make another push while their stars are affordable

Lol. I think in state rival might be a tad strong. Not sure there's a rivalry there. But fun they've been good for a hot minute lately.I couldn't decide which one I liked more, so there you go
And the page screwed up and wouldn't let me type, so you had to get 3 posts here. sorry

Gimmie packages for Kiermaier, Pollock, and Blackmon. Just for curiosity sake. Again, I'm clueless on value. But after actually typing out the Birds starting pitching depth in another thread, I just can't figure out why they wouldn't try to get something out of the depth.
Give me a few to do some research on your minors. I have a pretty decent idea, but gotta explore a bit for a wide range of possibilities...and try to not be a Cubs homerLol. With a QO tied to him at age 37. I mean I hope you guys replace Holliday with his twin. But that would be a terrible move for STLWhat did I read about Jose Bautista...is he a FA?
Well that.....and he's 37 and asked for 150 million last seasonI didn't realize bautista's injury problem and low average...we don't need anymore guys hitting 250 with solo homers...
You know better than that Ducky. We rented him for 6-8 weeks to insure some playoff success. The earliest point in time that the Royals might entertain offers for Cain would be next summer at the trade deadline.Hey you let Zobrist go to Chicago and he was only the WS MVP. It's only fair now to help an in-state brother out.
I just tossed him in for a mid level guy. Pollock is obviously the gold standard. Blackmon viewed by me as more middle of the road. And then Kiermayer as a lesser get. However, a Cespedes-type bat in LF and Kiermayer in CF would be pretty ok with me! All this said, I wouldn't be shocked if Grichuk is still in CF when the Birds break for camp.Give me a few to do some research on your minors. I will start with, you do not want Blackmon. He is a product of Coors. This season was probably the first where his splits were actually not bad. His career home/road splits are disgusting though. We are talking roughly a drop in his slash line of .070/.090/.100. It's not pretty
I don't think it is worth talking about because once any deal, trade or FA signing goes one penny over their metrics the deal is off.I just tossed him in for a mid level guy. I just can't see Pollock being moved for any reason other than someone decided to go overboard and pay for him. Him and Goldy are their team....and TLR wasted a lot of money/ prospects, so I have to assume they try to push again and be mildly competitive next year.I just tossed him in for a mid level guy. Sad but true on the White Sox... Reinsdorf is "Mr. Mediocrity."I just can't see Pollock being moved for any reason other than someone decided to go overboard and pay for him. That's why Eaton makes a lot of sense. The White Sox are going to HORRRRIBLE until Reinsdorf dies. They are a complete wreck and embarrassment.
He's actually worse than the Tribune Company was for the Cubs. I didn't think it was possibleSad but true on the White Sox... Reinsdorf is "Mr. Mediocrity."
IMO the manager is just the start... Reinsdorf needs to reshuffle his front office and give them the flexibility to make some moves. I also think that they would be crazy to deal either Sale or Quintana... unless the deal is with the Royals. LOLHe's actually worse than the Tribune Company was for the Cubs. At least he got rid Ventura for Renteria. RR is a solid guy for a team in that situation. I enjoyed how he handled the 2014 Cubs. Joe was clearly the superior manager, but RR did everything he was paid to do. Just got caught in bad timing with Joe leaving Tampa.
Kenny Williams is one of the worst guys in the league in a front office role. That would help tremendously right thereIMO the manager is just the start...
