What other states have 6(7) or fewer football classes?

Delaware 3

Florida 10

Illinois 8

Indiana 6

Kentucky 6

Kansas 6

Michigan 8

Minnesota 7

California 40+

Set it up like AAU basketball and travel baseball 12 classes, four team districts where every team advances to either the platinum, gold, bronze or silver bracket.

4 brackets X 12 classes = 48 “18U champions”

Think about all the Facebook bragging that we’re missing out on.

Mississippi just this year expanded to 7. Around 28 a class. It was you could tell watered down in several. Did get a first time champion in the lowest class.
I just like Arkansas district and playoff system. 7 is alot of classes.

Numbers-wise, there was never a need for even 6 classes. The justification for going to 6 (agree with it or not) was to separate the super-large schools with 2000+ enrollment from the 1500-ish schools.

Oklahoma 6A is two divisions I often wonder if that is so someone (has been Stillwater the past two seasons) outside Metro Tulsa has a chance to win a title (the gulf between Tulsa and the rest of the state is so wide most years).............

Only three states with a population larger than Missouri have less than six divisions.

North Carolina has four and uses a point system. One class has 104 teams in it.

Washington - five

Arizona - five
