What is your guaranteed upset this week

Windsor over Butler?
Portageville over Scott City?
As always Butler no respect. Over the last 3 years Butler has been 27-4. Two of those losses were to Pius and Lafayette County. This year they loss to Holden and Buffalo without Diehl there senior running back and D back. He’s back.

Not a matter of that. Windsor started slow that is deceptive. Programs that have been to and won the biggest games should always be watched. I think this will be a very good game and no doubt your Bears are favorites with good reason.

Butler isn't lacking respect. Its the fact that Windsors success the last couple years has earned them some respect too.

I like Butler beats Windsor pretty easy and think they will be the favorite in each game going forward until they were to meet up with Monroe City.

The best medicine for Butler was to fall to Class 1. They got curbed stomped by LC last year and the difference in athletes were light years apart. Butler should be a year in and year out top 10 team in Class 1 and competing for districts championships and long playoff runs should be the expectations going forward.

I still haven't seen anyone picking Butler to lose this game.

Much ado about nothing it seems!

Come on ol' dutch . Don't be playing the 'no respect' card!

Nobody has picked against Butler that I've seen.

Butler was actually given respect... When one poster pointed out the bad loss Buffalo had when they lost to Central, another pointed out the "good win" over Butler.

I'd have a complex too if I lived in a town of 4000 that could only field a class 1 team.
Unless MSHSAA quits coddling class 6 that's going to be the trend going forward.

I guess someone can clue me in on the logic of having class 6 be 32 teams while we have a <90 pop school in class 1 playing against a school with 231 population.

Schools that small playing 'up' isn't the same as a school with over 1000 kids playing up.

This is part of the reason 8 man is a thing now.

I agree with the others that Republic is a 'possible' upset. But don't think for a second that WC didn't notice Republic beat Nixa. They know they've got work to do BEFORE taking a trip to C-Town. They will be ready!

Probably the usual story we've all see a thousand times before. Republic will score on a big play early and is trailing WC 7-14 late in the 2nd Q and it looks like a game up for grabs but good WC defense eventually demoralizes the opponent who in turn starts to give up points on the other side as WC keeps shuffling kids in and out.

A game that was seemingly up for grabs is getting out of reach before the end of the 3rd.

I will say that Republic is one of the few COC teams with numbers approaching Webb City's. I don't know how useful all those kids are but they may be better positioned to hang in the second half than some other COC teams running horses in both directions.

The enrollment has dropped from 360 to 222. The football class is determined by enrollment.

I think you're comparing 9-12 totals vs 9-11 totals. Butler is still hovering around 300 kids 9-12.
226 ---228----243----203

Are their last 4 years (9-11) on MSHSAA.

Edit: By comparison Adrian is 145---155---167---169 the last 4.

Top reasons we don't win:
1. Private schools
2. Big schools
3. Playoff system

I sure hope so.
I got a buddy, also on the fan pin, who got an email from a parent in his kids school who signed it as JV Golf Coach. He's not sure if he was THE jv golf coach since he doesn't know the actually one at the kids school since he doesn't play golf

Class 6 has more enrollment than 8 man, Class 1, and Class 2, combined....

Much more actually.

Do the maths.

Also, if I have a classes of 300+ kids there' a MUCH better chance I can find players than if I had classes of 30.
There is a much bigger difference between the top of class 6 and middle of class 5 than the top and bottom of class 1. The top 7 schools in 6 have more students than all of class 1

split all classes evenly.

A class 5 and up school has a much better chance at dealing with a 'numbers' issue than a class 1.

Someone posted the classes split evenly last week or 2 but I can't find it now. It looked like a much more equitable split.

1056 Vs 1878 seems more reasonable ?
If they put 48 in Class 6 and 48 in Class 1, the cutoff for class 6 would be Truman at 1218 I believe. Class 1, Mark Twain would be the largest at 185. This is if I didn't miss any schools, which is a possibility.

Cold and now almost 100% chance of thunderstorms come gametime in KC tomorrow night. Maybe a night of turnovers and upsets. Honestly, if this forecast holds their will be lightning in whatever the radius is for quite sometime.
