That is a cool site. Wish it showed how many years they have been playing football.
In 65 years Camdenton is 533-160-7.
Didn't see Coach Bob Shore under the coaches. His record 368-98-3 (8.3 wins per year).

Camdenton during the Bob Shore days was really something. They always had the JOD rocking. Sad what they have become over the last 10 years. They use to be a physical run team that would out hit and out physical people. Finesse football is their game now, and they have never been the same. I miss the good old days.

Interesting, how did they come up with these numbers did somebody turn them in to somebody or did the site actually do the research?

Great question, I was curious myself ... especially since I am in the middle of a research project on Carl Junction football. I have every score, opponent, date and location of every Carl Junction game from 1920-present.

I have been working on 1910-1919 ... found some scores from 1916 and 1917, but a lot of gaps still to fill. The hard part was trying to find the year Carl Junction started a high school. Earlier this fall, had a breakthrough as a resident of the community showed me a graduation announcement from 1903, she said it was from the first ever graduation class from Carl Junction High School. Which means the earliest possible football team they could have had was fall of 1902. Working toward filling in the gap from 1902-1920.

Anvil Welch has been a HUGE help, he has kept team records for football, basketball and baseball in Southwest Missouri since his days at the Springfield News Leader back in the 1960's. He has records from high schools that don't even exist today. He still works on his records daily and is not afraid to call schools and coaches to pick their brains about teams, records and anything sports related.

A few years back (2013), was able to help my alma mater Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville uncover a record book from the school vault that had every head coach and team record for football since the start of the program in 1899. I'm working on the baseball records for Field Kindley now.

Camdenton switched because they have had a string of elite to above average arms at the quarterback position. DeLaurent, Shore and Durnin brothers better play to what you got. They have used more power running formations this year, would expect them to go back more that direction

Keep in mind that prior to MSHSAA being formed in 1926, there were overage "students" playing on some of those school teams. That was one of the factors that lead to the formation of MSHSAA.

Once you get an entire 10-12 year run of kids out of a hard hitting smash mouth system, it’s a tough road back.

You will not find consistent information prior to 1920. I have found mentions and scores from the 1900s and 1910s, even back to the 1890s but because of the inconsistencies I made the decision to keep my archive from 1920 to present.
