West Plains @ Webb City

I havent been to a Webb City game all year. Possibly in two years. Possibly only 4 in 5 years. There. I admit it. Watch most of them online though-- or for sure listen on the radio. If I were a betting man/woman I would guess that you will see a sharper team this weekend. I pick Webb by 24. ;)

Fan you are right. I remember back when I was in grade school and you being much older than I am one of your classmates dad who happened to be related to me along with the founder of the company we work for was kicked out of many basketball games and was almost banned from all games.
Yep I think he holds the record

If you were a betting man/woman would that make you Bruce/Caitlyn? LOL.

Since first stepping onto the stage as a HS Soph, it is hard to believe AD is finishing up his career. The team is probably falling a little short of what he had hoped for this year but all in all a very respectable run. Congrats!!

Thanks. Tough end for him. Been a struggling season. Only position that didnt suffer and injury was WR and he got injured Saturday. Never missed a game in any sport in his life and is going to miss his last two of college. Pretty hefty letdown. He is a good kid, graduating in December with his accounting degree-- so after he mends from sugery and gets a real job-- its new beginnings without football. Def going to be different. I am sure proud of him though. He loves being a Gorilla. Going to be a transition for sure.

Did not know he was having surgery. Wishing him a very speedy recovery and best of luck in his post-football life. And here is to watching the grand chitlins in little Cardinal uniforms soon. :)

Yea, having surgery on Tuesday. Traveling with his team this weekend to UCM and will not play on Senior Day next week, but he will participate in ceremony. He is a captain too, so he is still active with helping the team. He is handling it fairly well. He is pretty level headed, unlike his mother. ;)

Have any of you played on artificial grass in a heavy rain before.....? Watch the film. It went both ways. The line on both sides fired-off and fell down leaving the linebackers to eat it all up. There is almost less traction of this type of field than in mud. Look at the scores from last Friday night and who played in the rain. Any team that scored more than 20 points, what were their stats. They were all heavily favored passing.

Yes, I have. No, the traction is about 100 times better on turf regardless of the weather. I would rather play in the mud, but the traction isn't better.

JUST like LAST WEEK, JROD will "Call off the dogs by the 3Q." Hahahaha For all of you that were pissed off by my Rock v. Webb I call last year...last weeks Webbie predictions for CJ v. Webb were outrageous, hilarious, and well worth the time I take to click on this site. I had literal tears of laughter reading the pre-game predictions and it completely doubled me over in convulsions of delight to see how off some of you were.

. "Call of the dogs by the 3Q." Hehehehe All time chuckwagon classic.

That still won't help this week's Webb victim. Webb by 24.

The way the bracket looks, whoever wins out of our district will get Harrisonville at home. I'm not 100% sure, but I do believe that is accurate.

If WP wins, they host next week.
If WC wins they would host Hville (because both would have hosted equal games and WC is on the top of that bracket) or go to Center (because center would have hosted fewer games).

Looking past that, if WC were to win tonight, it will be their last home game if Center were to beat Hville tonight. If Hville beats Center tonight, next week will be WC's last home game. No matter what the other outcomes are, there is no scenario that I see where WC could host a semifinal and I have ran it to ground with Vashon (3 seed) at Affton (1 seed) and Farmington (4 seed) at Cape (3 seed) possibilities.

The first factor is whoever has hosted the least gets to host.

Including tonight's games, WC has hosted 3, Affton 3, Cape 2, Farmington 1 and Vashon 1.

So just looking at Afton since they have the max of 3 hosts like WC, if they win, they will have to go to the Farmington vs Cape winner. If WC went to Center and were to win, both WC and Affton would have 3 hosts, neither would have hosted the quarterfinal and since Afton is in the top bracket, WC would go there. Obviously, with the other 3 schools having fewer hosts, if one of them were to prevail over Affton out of those two districts, WC would go there.

All conjecture. I am definitely not taking anything for granted or making any predictions here.

Sure why not. WC beat Republic by 18, Smith Cotton beat Republic by 28 but only beat Nevada by 3. Nevada over WC by 7 and definitely beats Har-Ber too,

Ask Liberator dad how he thinks West Plains compares to Harrisonville who I think we all agree is a very good team.

West Plains is a very good football team. WC will have to play better than they did last night to win. I think they will but WP will be a good challenge.
Watch the Zizzers QB.............very, very good. I have no idea how this one turns out but know Plains will travel exceptionally for it. Should be a great HSFB atmosphere!

You better hope this game isn't even close or you're gonna be choking on cro. Zizzers by 2TD.
You might want to skip eating anything the rest of the day to save room for your crow feast. Ah never mind...you wouldn't give WC any credit for blowing WP away. Only credit WP for keeping it close.

I guess we'll know here in about 5 hours. Maybe sooner. Just depends how much Webb has to throw the ball.

Reading all this drivel makes my eyes glaze over so I may have missed it earlier but what makes you think WP can stop the WC running game? Nobody has even came close this year.

Watched the hudl high-lights. Z's are big but really slow. Webb o and d lineman are small but quick on their feet. Webb all night.

Pretty sure Webb had to pass the whole game and didn't run for 300+ like advertised. Regardless, they controlled the tempo of the game and congratulations.

Had to pass and chose to pass are two different things. They didnt punt till the 4th qtr when the backups were in. Webb could have done whatever they felt like tonight

Im not trying to take anything away from wp but they would have lost to cj as well. If webb wanted to win by 60 they could have .

Webb went to the pass early if you could have done a better job of covering the deep ball you could have stayed around longer once you gave webb two deep ball tds it was over.

WC hit a few big passes but could have run for 400 yards tonight if they had needed to. WP wasn't going to stop them. Still WP did have a couple players that brought the wood.

I'm thinking the coaches challenged they players this week and boy did they respond.

Congrats to Webb.

But a shame for all the WP hype this year that didn't pan out. The Zizzers were better than average but they didn't live up to the billing given to them on this board, as trailing 42-0 at the half of a district championship game doesn't reflect well on anyone.

In all seriousness though congrats to WP on their nice season too. I doubt any of those players were on here bragging on themselves, but 10-2 with their only losses to two district champs ain't too shabby.

I will say WC played much much better than last week vs CJ and I think CJ and WP would be pretty evenly matched but before tonight I think I would take WP over CJ but now I don't think WP would have stopped CJ's offense enough to win.

Apart from Kickapoo who is proving to be a very good team I just think the Ozark Conference just hasn't been as good as the COC the last several years.

Better than average isn't good enough to beat Webb. They could of done whatever they wanted tonight, WP didn't have a chance in this one. Great job Webb.

You do realize WC had 174 rushing yards in the first half right? Against the best run defense you have ever seen in your travels around the Midwest! You chirped all year and not it is time for a little crow.

To the rest of the WP fans, parents and players congrats on a great year. Classy group, very sportsmanlike! I hope you all had a great experience in WC and everyone traveled safely.

LMAO, I took your side in another post then I read this. Come on Chaotic we went back and forth the other night about WEBB rushing and how you said no team had more than 100 yards rushing against the Ziz. I told you WEBBs top rusher not even the team but the top guy would have over 100. Im not sure what Burroughs had for the game but hell he had 87 yards in the first half and the team had 176. WEBB couldve rolled up well over 400 on the ground. And the Ziz by two TDs, come on man If not for the 3rd and 4th stringers playing for two series the Ziz barely wouldve seen 100 yards on O and definately wouldnt have scored.
