West Plains 41 - Carl Junction 26 (FINAL)

WP is clearly better. Tough to come back from that TD before half. CJ will need multiple turnovers to win

It feels like the kind of game that could be 49-14 real quick. It is amazing CJ was within 7 of Webb with a minute to go.

Could it be possible that the Bulldogs lose because of another missed PAT? Down 26-28 early in the fourth.

Lost 20-21 twice this year.

Lair with a big 1st down reception on 4th and 5 in the red zone.
Zizzers score next play in a Seeley run.
XP Good
35-26 West Plains

CJ dropped 2 TDs and then scored but it was called back by a penalty. All on 1 series.

Unfortunately, CJ’s touchdown called back on a terrible call. Watching it live and on replay, chop block called but only below the waist block was the running back against the D End with nobody else anywhere close to them.

Or, correct me if I’m wrong - is that an illegal chop block?

Any block below the waist by a player not on the line of scrimmage at snap of the ball is illegal. Ball also has to be in the box, tackle to tackle basically, or it is illegal by today's rules.

Thanks, sort of figured I was wrong and then begin to have doubts when trying to google it. My apologies to the ref!

The teams were even enough that I could see CJ beating West Plains a few times out of 10, but I do feel like West Plains is the stronger team. Pretty dang solid defensively, and a good running game with some stud runners who are hard to bring down.

CJ couldn’t get anything going on the ground, and their passing game was a combination of big plays versus interceptions. While the pass got them three scores, they also threw four picks.

Congrats to the Zizzers!

West Plains is a strong team. The hits from behind were total BS but apparently the officials are blind. They obviously can’t see the goal line sometimes as well. I think my 3rd grader could have done a better job.
Either way, they still outplayed them, personal fouls, chop blocks, facemasks, blocks in the back and all.

Hopefully Helias gets a better officiating crew. The Zizzzzzzzeerrrrrrrrs announcer was good.

#40 is darn good. May need some anger management but great player. Quarterback spins around like Sonic the Hedgehog. Quick, strong team.

Too bad WC is Class 5. Would love to see them whip that team.

The refs missed a lot of calls both ways, believe me. Both teams got hosed by the officiating crew tonight.

Well the big difference was two hosed calls cost CJ a TD and gave one, possibly 2 to WP. Would love to see those on replay. Either way, once WP was within 10 yards CJ wasn’t stopping them.
If Helias has a decent OLine and can hurl the ball downfield as they typically can do, it will be interesting. West Plains definitely has a harder time stopping the pass. Baker was rushed all night but he did a heck of a job, just missed some targets, or someone ran the wrong route, one of the two.
WP is very good. Definitely not taking anything away from them. They’ll be hard to beat.
Best of luck to them.

I watched the Helias/JC game and Helias’ passing game was just not there. They ran the ball well though. But that’s just one game. I need to get on YouTube and see what else I can find to get a better gauge on their passing game. Helias’ line was impressive. Disciplined. It’ll be interesting.

I said WP would best CJ by two TDs and they won by 15 Points but I’m going to have to watch some more of Helias to make an educated prediction.

Doesn't MSHSAA assign the officials
