West Central Conference Disbanding?

It's pretty bad when your town newspaper that covers the school, and the conference teams they play doesn't know that it is Center HS of Kansas City and not Central HS of Kansas City in your conference.

They also put that Clinton is leaving the conference when I think that there really isn't a conference to leave when everyone else bails. I heard that Clinton was not accepted into the MRVC. They are in a bad location for a school their size. Not enough schools around that are their size. Maybe they could try the new conference with Butler, Sherwood, Warsaw, Buffalo, El Dorado Springs. Or they could try joining the Tri-County, but that would be some long trips.

You're right about Clinton, they are in a tough situation geographically. I graduated from Clinton in 2002, and Warsaw & El Do were our non-con those last years. I don't know if they've ever played Butler, Sherwood or Buffalo even with the proximity so strictly by school size those other schools may not be for inviting them into the conference.

Maybe Bolivar can get Clinton, Warsaw, Eldo, Butler etc to form a new conference with them and they can continue their legacy as conference champs.

Going back to the start of the conference there have been 20 teams in the league. Other members have been Adrian, Appleton City, Rich Hill.

I think Smith-Cotton used to be in North Central Missouri Conference long time ago.

According to the records I have they were never in the North Central Missouri Conference. I know they were in the original Central Missouri conference starting in the 1930s till is shut down after 1941-42 school year and the reformed conference 1946/47 till it broke up after 1977/78 school year. Also in Ozark Conference 1979/80 thru 1983/84. Was in the Mid-Missouri Conference 1987/88-1999/2000 and after it broke up joined the West Central in 2000/01
