1-0, then lost two straight. So 1-2, according to webbcityfootball.comI'm not positive but in 1992 webb started either 0-2 or 1-2 and won state
Going back to 1973 on Webbcityfootball.com it has not happened. Last time Webb City started 0-2 was 1979 when they started 0-3, losing to Carthage 2-20, Parkwood(alma mater) 0-23, and Glendale 6-21. Webb City went 3-7 that year.
Questions and observations... First lets keep this in perspective. Coach Kill started the modern day Webb City football program to me anything back before that was a different world. So how many regular season games has Webb lost since then ? Isn't this pretty much uncharted territory for Webb? I'm also curious about Coach Roderique's commitment to the program since his kids have graduated. Kinda funny since they have graduated we all of the sudden have a sharp drop off of the "tradition".
I'm just talking rivals CJ and Carthage! That has to back to the 70s

Ah, missed that one1995 lost to Seneca and Pittsburg to open the season.
The coaching staff has checked out! They are just pulling a paycheck!
Are you kidding me right now? WC losses two games and you are questioning JRods commitment? Commitment to a school he attended. A school he help lead to their very first playoff appearance ever as a senior in high school. A school he has dedicated 20 years of his life to as a coach.
Then you have coach Smith who came out of retirement to coach again!
Will these guys be around forever? No, but as long as this staff is here they will be fully invested.
Btw... Facing adversity is not a drop off in tradition, it's life. Tradition is how you embrace it, learn from it and improve on it.
Have your fun. Does not bother me, there has been a lot of mouthy fans that have given WC a black eye and I understand why people delight in this. It actually makes me more proud in WC's accomplishments when people react this way. But don't question the staffs commitment!
You really are clueless aren't you?Webb City hasn't faced adversity in many years. Phrases like 'Webb doesn't rebuild they reload !!' , " I wouldn't want to be team blank next week since we had 2 touchdowns scored on us !!" remember those ?? All those cocky phrases . I'm just so surprised as well as you guys are that they talent has dropped off so swiftly. Now the humble pie is being served and don't think for a minute that everybody isn't enjoying this !!
With all this being said last nights win by Carthage kind of takes away from Carl's win last week don't you think. I'm sure that kind of let the wind out of Bucks sails !
In the Jones era Kearney had a team like this in 2012. It happens. Let's see where things stand come district time...............Webb City hasn't faced adversity in many years. Great comment, its pretty simple really. Its like Webbs been in a zone, and just now took a step or two down. We all knew it was coming and will again. I just hope the boys continue to show their character... Sometimes it takes more to get knocked down and still stay in the fight. The system is still in place and we got a lot of room to improve...just glad we didnt play the Rock or someone like Lamar this yearIn the Jones era Kearney had a team like this in 2012. It happens. Clueless about what. Everything I said is true. You really are clueless aren't you?

Congrats to Carthage and I'm pretty sure the wind is blowing strong right now for Buck, and all of CJ. In fact, between 2013 and now, I'm pretty sure CJ now has the best conference record among all Large COC, Big 8, and Ozark Conference teams. Just one lone blemish during those 3+ seasons, hats off to 5-time state champ Lamar (and counting) for that one league loss suffered by the Bulldogs.

Between 2013 and now, LMAO. WOOT WOOT....Considering this is the first year WEBB has had a Conference loss in 10+ seasons blow that horn elsewhere.."In the last two seasons and two games CJ has only one conference loss to 2A Lamar", peanut..Seriously you posted that OMG. Are you related to Veer and his "MU almost"??
And don't forget that CJ is the smallest school in the COC Large, and has competed well thru 2 weeks. There are several schools that are 400-600 (or more) larger than CJ in the COC Large, so I guess it will mean nothing to those schools when they beat CJ? CJ's accomplishments are nowhere near Webb's accomplishments, but no need to belittle them. That's pretty easy to say when they've been playing 2A and 3A schools the last 5 years for conference play, don't get me wrong, the Big 8 is a great conference and is very competitive, but lets not act like CJ didn't have an enrollment with 400-500 students more than most, if not all of the schools in the Big 8.

I agree with that against Carthage, Carl Junction on the other hand I'm not so sure, I think CJ would've still pulled it out but it definitely would've made it a much closer game. Most years , we had a huge margin of error ; we turn the ball over 5 times ; that's means webb only wins by a TD or two. This year they are equal to other teams and they can't afford those mistakes . So far they haven't limited them but from what I've seen ; if they don't turn over the ball 2/3 of their possessions they they could have won both games . Just my opinion . Perhaps I'm wrong

I agree, Webb could be sitting at say 3-6 and still end up winning the district, the talent is there at some spots, just depends on if they are able to get it together.I pretty much agree. CJ outplayed or at least made it a stalemate up front even without the turnovers. Turnovers and being stopped on downs at the 1 to end the half was the difference in the Carthage game.
WC has had teams that have played a decent amount of underclassmen and has been able to scrape together wins but the learning curve looks to be steeper than those teams. Several of the seniors that graduated last year had 2-3 years experience and some of the juniors starting this year had very little varsity experience. The team can definitely can turn things around but I don't know that winning ANY game in the COC right now is going to come very easy. That said, there is still potential to be a pretty good football team by the end of the year.
Sure WC probably could have won either game if all the turnovers were eliminated. And maybe if they had been able to complete at the 1yd line that would have made a difference - but really you could always say any team might have won a given game if only they had done this or that. The bottom line is that both CJ and Carthage significantly outplayed WC and the scores represent that.I agree with that against Carthage, Carl Junction on the other hand I'm not so sure, I think CJ would've still pulled it out but it definitely would've made it a much closer game.
I completely agree with this. They both played very well.Sure WC probably could have won either game if all the turnovers were eliminated. I think it's unfortunate for CJ and Carthage that their wins seem to be largely written off as if WC is the only team that lost of ton of talent. I think CJ and Carthage deserve more credit than that. They both played excellent games against a rival that for now isn't playing at a level that is causing fans to post threads discussing which college and NFL teams WC could beat.
