They should bring back a pretty salty defense. They only lost a few kids. All 4 backers are back but one will move to QB . They lost fs and I think 2 lineman.

Offensively they got hit a bit harder but still have quite a bit of talent returning and great numbers. I'm sure they will be just as good if not better next year .
Sophomore group next year could be special. The Crouch kid probably step into linebacker slot that opens up. Offensive line

freshman group this year was fun to watch. The Crouch kid (44) at linebacker brings the wood.

Should be fun as always

Webb had 6 freshman play up this year and all of them have a really good shot at contributing next year as sophomores. They will plug them into the graduating positions and Webb will continue to make runs at State Titles.

I have nephews from CJ and Seneca and you could make a dream team just from the players that moved to Webb from there in Jr High. I think Carthage is the only one that doesn’t drink the poison. To each their own, if I had a boy that looks like he might be able to play in college, especially on defense, then you’d be stupid not to consider moving to Webb.

I know the Crouch kid played 4 years in Webb's youth program because Shannon was a coach for Webb when we played them, I think at one time they did live in Seneca but they moved to Webb long before Junior high. Who are some of the others?

There are a lot of good coaches in this area that can get your kid to the next level, if they want to play after school, you don't have to move for that.

As Far as I know we had 1 kid move in from jr high and 1 in 9th grade. I happen to have coached this group and I can confirm they are all HOME GROWN and I would like to know who these move ins are? This is definitely one of the most talented groups that I have seen come through the program.

I’m not going to list a bunch of names because you guys are taking it as slander of the families, which once again I will state I do not blame them. 3 of the handful I know of went pro in baseball or D1 in football. It’s judt a fact, if you have a stud horse athlete sure he prob doesn’t need Webb to get to college but if you want to fine tune those skills into a thoroughbred then you move in the district. You see the prices of land compared to land in any other school district near by? It’s not because of the academics or the great scenery of the old chat piles. If they are because of facilities and community well where you think that comes from - athletics.

It actually might be for academics.

Maybe so, ive personally never heard of anyone moving 10 to 20 minutes across town for that reason. If you were from out of the four state area I could see that being a major point but I think if people live in Neosho or Seneca or Pierce City they’re staying put unless they want a lesser commute to where they work and their kid happens to be a good athlete. Or we’d all be trying to move to Webb.

Yeah high school freshman D1 and pro athletes. This is fun

I'm just going to throw this word vomit out there and see what happens. Let the games begin:

Objectively speaking, what right does any town/school/athletic program have to any person who lives there who wants to live/go/play elsewhere? I know MSHSAA has rules in place that assume that towns/schools have some sort of right to a student-athlete at some point, or we wouldn't have the infamous check-box on transfer paperwork; however, I am asking the question: should it be that way?
Before you respond, consider your own stance on school choice/vouchers (because that is a direct parallel here), and then make a logical, reasoned response consistent with your stance as a coach, fan, or whatever. The point here is not to ignite a political debate on school choice/vouchers, but if it happens, it is worthy topic of discussion that is pertinent.

Awesome question and topic to discuss

I absolutely think you should get to choose but financially it doesn’t make sense if you live and pay taxes here and then ship your kids to school over there.

If there were a voucher system, the per student allotment, whatever it is, would go with the kid, wherever they go to school, so paying taxes in a different area wouldn't necessarily matter so much, if I understand it correctly that is.
