Webb Jam : Joplin Webb Seneca

Well hard to tell anything from a jamboree but they show a few things. I really liked Joplin athleticism with only a few months with coach Jasper they looked pretty good and will improve a lot in the coming month. No one scored on they varsity D and the offense looked good and should really improve with more reps.
Webb look good at times but the are missing some linemen from last year but the defense has speed. I see another state title in class 4 defense wins title but may not be undefeated but I wouldn't bet against JR.
Seneca was alittle over matched tonight its really hard to tell but I have a feeling they will have a good year.
the Indians always play hard.

Joplin will be better this year. Fast little running back could see 1500 yards and they have height and weight at receiver. Joplin will throw for huge numbers this year but if they run into a great pass defense team, their running game will be weak if the can't get to the outside with speed. Seneca kind of quit against Joplin but they were heavily overmatched all night. Not sure how long they should continue with this Jamboree. Joplin blitzed them every play and that really doesn't help them work their offense. Webb like usual didn't show much of anything. Other than the running backs and quarterback, the starters barely played against Joplin.

For Webb, it was good to see the CB's covering Joplin's receivers pretty close - all of them. And then when they went down he middle the safety's were there to break up everything. Now, just get the line finishing the blocking assignments. That's what I saw was their biggest issue, but I see that almost every year at the Jamboree, when they are new like this, they have seen these d-lines for the first time and made plenty of assignment mistakes. Give JRod a week to prepare for only C-Town and I think they'll get those assignments down and blow people off the line for some real big and fast running backs.

Joplin will throw for big numbers but I don't think your giving any credit to their running game. Joplin like Webb showed very little of their overall package. The Jamboree for every team is base stuff blocking tackling how a kid reacts on Friday night etc.... Joplin defense is real solid and the D Ends specially Duley 44 will have a real good year no one last night could handle him, he made the wrong read a couple times and allowed Tyson to run but for a kid you didn't play last year he looked good. Webb will be Webb they will pound pound, deep ball , pound pound, deep ball and wait for the defense to screw up on an assignment. John will take them and make them winners. Some years you watch the cards and think oh yes that's a really good team full of good athletes other years you say hmmm not bad but not great . well the results are the same for both teams lol that's what make John R special. I hope Joplin has a good coach I think he may be a good one. Southwest MO really has some good ones already.

Good info fellas...hoping Joplin got a good coach and gets some momemtum and improves the numbers. Tired of watching all these SWMO teams go deep into their playoff runs every year and Joplin sits at home. Nothing against the other teams...I root for all of them...just want to be included in the festivities on occasion.

Joplin appeared to have better than usual numbers. They have some really good skill position players. #2 is super fast (wr/cb) their rb was pretty shifty. And #44 (te/de) is outstanding. I was impressed with joplin although i noticed they blitzed like crazy in the jamboree which i thought to be kind of outside the norm/ disrespectful. The two other teams ran a base defense . Webb city blitzed once and never slanted the d line once . 28 defense against seneca and .30 defense against joplin

Joplin will light up the scoreboard id imagine. Webb looked smallish but fast on d . Linebackers are maybe the best in 5 years
