Let's see you have a team who is playing their state championship game against WC.
You have a back up QB making his first start.
Oh not to mention WC is coming off the 3 biggest games of the year outside of the playoffs.
We all know JRod is the master of 2nd half adjustments. Relax and breathe. It will be fine.
Not a chance . No offense to #10. He wouldnt start for alot of area schools .
It ain't easy playing with that big a target on your back (especially for 16 and 17 year old kids)

We can block PATs but cant tackle a hot blonde in a mini skirt. Not bad D by any means the tackling has been very poor. And the turnovers OH MY going to be some sweat flying next week around Cardinal stadium..
Horrible play calling. Won't throw deep at all!! Qb has 4 turnovers and won't get replaced. Republic will ONLY run ball and we are not putting a run defense in!!! Did not want to play this game after Republic punched us in mouth.
Good game by Republic, definately came to play tonight. Jones is a beast ran hard ran fast. 5 turnovers by WEBB and poor tackling will make for a rough week of practice. Think JROD will do sprints for the last pass he called for an interception, LOL?
I told my friend before the year that webb will be unstoppable as long as ty rod stays healthy. If not who knows? Hope he is back next week or it could very well be a loss
Agree very big difference in QB play but thats experience. I was shocked by our Defense and poor tackling. They say Jones is probably the fastest kid in the district, thats well and fine but when you see 3-4 different guys hitting him and he still goes for 25 yards more oh my,not good. I think they stopped WEBB one time on downs the other 5 times WEBB turned the ball over, very uncharestic hopefully we got all that out of our system.
Yes. They missed alot of tackles. Gave up too many big plays and turned it over 5 times. That effort against nixa will equal the first ever loss in the coc next week
If tyson isnt ready to go thats fine ..we just cant turn it over 3/4 of our offensive possessions
Maybe it is a good time to re-evaluate that Kearney loss to Liberty North.I think you have to give Republic credit for playing hard. That said, of the four teams WC has played this year they are clearly the 4th best. Probably a bit of a wake-up call tonight.
You have to remember and with a bunch of success it is easy to forget. Those aren't robots on the field. They are 16-18 year olds and if you hear all the time that your opponent is going to be a cakewalk especially after a couple wars against larger schools it is easy to come out a little flat.
WC had way too many turnovers and missed more tackles than I've seem in along time. When it got to crunch time they made the plays and won the game, Absolutely the same effort will be a loss at Nixa next week. The effort the first 3 weeks will be a win.
Not every win is a masterpiece. Accept and ugly win and move on.
Agreed Frog. I know a trap game is generally an easy game preceding a hard game but thats what this game seeemed like by WEBBs mistakes. I think they exhaled a little to much from the past few weeks being over and it just about bit them. Thats why I think getting back to a Pittsburg type opponenet for a little while may be a good thing for the future Cards. Those big name opponents carry alot of pressure.

You got your best back out and you have had how many qtrs playing QB against starters on the other side of the ball as a senior? ( maybe a couple...but I doubt it). Come on folks, your comparing the kid to Derryberry? Give him a break, running the option takes experience and I think Andrew has got us thru 5-6 very difficult Qtrs given his time running a starting unit. Keep him in there for another 5-6 games with the starting unit and you'll see a very good QB. Not that I dont want Tyson in there, like next week...but point is, try jumping in and running the option against the likes of HarBer (who by the way handed it to the Rock tonight), or this Republic defense that practiced like they knew our starting QB may not be playing tonight. I say hats off to Andrew who brought a win and did much better than any of the waterboys on this site.

My post says its a lack of experience. Although I dont agree with your best back out but yes a starter is out. Vanlue is by no means a step backwards. But, since you brought it up is Tyson supposed to miss a couple weeks? If the TEAM plays well the next few weeks it shouldnt matter but if he went that long unable to practice/play could take awhile for him to get back to game speed.
Hats off to 40 & 28 tonight. Both ran very hard tonight and did great things. 40 had some highlight reel moves and 28 is a truck.

I said He would start for MOST teams around the area. Hes a good qb. Made some really good choices out there and really, only one time did he actually make a turnover. Other times because the Republic D forced him into one. Been awhile since I've seen Webb get gashed on long run plays like tonight. Too many times they had the runner but couldn't get him on the ground. Mostly due to the RB and QB not quitting on the play. When they needed too, D stepped up. They'll be fine.
