Webb 49 GV 35 final

They have been great all year against the pass . Calm down . They are going against the best offense they have seen all year by a long shot
They’ve been good all year against average quarterbacks. I think it’s the weakest part of their defense. But the front 7 are damn good.

Grain Valley came to play . Webb put up 567 yards of offense and held 12 about 50 yards under his average (he still got 160)

Horsecollar tackle by Webb late in the game on 4th down kept GV in it

Was it actually a horse collar? Didn’t seem to be from my POV. Maybe it was legit. Either way, that call made sure the game was a thriller.

Just stopped to fill up the gas guzzler. Great game tonight. That last drive would have been crazy if GV didn't fumble on the 2 fighting for extra yards.

Agreed that play and the 4th and 19 td were the most impact full.

Hopefully Webb came out as healthy as can be to try and finish off the playoff run.

Best 2nd half adjustment goes to the refs they were terrible in 1st half and got alot better 2nd half.

Play was close to the GV sideline, it was the definition of horse collar. Hand inside the pads and dropping of weight to make tackle.

Safe travels!!

Best athlete on the field tonight was #3 Gabe Johnson - no question. Another sophomore, Slade Hurd, stepped in for injured RB Elwell and got some critical first downs. Future looks bright for Webb City, at least offensively, with those two players.

Omari Jackson had some great hard runs but it was his blocking, as lead in front of Gabe, that really made a difference tonight. Webb City is a completely different (better) team when they got Johnson and Jackson back from the injured list. How much better would Webb have been this year had their No. 1 rusher, Galardo, not been lost for the year?

GV #12 was a beast. Big heart. He was exhausted and hurting. Kept bringing it to the end. Nice last KO return out to midfield, even when the game was nearly over. Respect.

Halftime thoughts.

Webb offense has great speed and the misdirection is alot.

Webb D has good speed but has gave up some big plays when arm tackling.

Grain Valley offense is good but that defensive speed is turning the usual 50 to 60 yd td runs into 10 to 15 yd gains.

Grain Valley Defense is giving it all they can vs a very fast offense

2nd half adjustments or who has the ball last will tell the tale. Great Ball game.

Apology accepted. I said by 14. 49 points. Defense.

He was fun to watch, wasn't he? His burst of speed is unreal. The man was a warrior. Hobbled, hurting, but he kept going out there and giving it all. You can't teach a kid to do that. That comes from within. All heart.

I’m sorry but that was not even close to what happened. Two hands on his jersey, nowhere close to his collar or pads. Had a hold of the jersey at the kids numbers.
GV was a great football team! I hope you enjoyed the trip down despite the loss. Those kids played really hard and you should be proud of them.

We gonna have to disagree on that play. Not sure how close you were or whether your heart effects your eyes. I don't have video of it yet but from where I was. Remember that since 2019 grabbing even the jersey at the nameplate area is a horse collar.

Trip down was great, WC fans are great, Flat Iron catfish is great, great kids gonna miss the seniors and can't wait to see who steps up for leadership roles as well as to fill the shoes of the man before

Glad you and the family made it home safely! Congratulations on your entertaining team the trip to the quarters and a great year!

I wish I could say the GV/WC game was the state championship - both teams played like it last night - but with the mini-Kansas City Chiefs looming on the horizon (Cardinal Ritter), still a long road ahead.
