GAWD...This board used to be a haven for the..persecuted, the..out-spoken, the..trash-talk'n,
the..your-team-show's-no-class, the..your announcer made fun of our team, the..little league experts,
the..your coach ran up the score.., the..what the heck is MSHSAA doing?, the..blistering arguments,
the..why you pass'n while up by 60? , the..rivalry, the..small town drama, the..our town against your town
posts that used to make this board an absolute must see...

Now...it's just tired old Webb City and Mizzou vs. the rest of the world posts....yawn...

The good thing about it is...when we aren't talking about Webb City, we have all of the WC experts here to turn the conversation into one about WC...you know..share their wisdom and knowledge, since they know so much more about football than everyone else in the state. I mean, its kind of like St. Louis Cardinals fans...they just inherently know more about baseball. Same thing really. Good to know the real experts on here though, will straighten me out, and make sure I know what is really going on. I like Webb City fans for that. I love going to their place for a game too-- they really need to consider bringing in some California or Texas teams though. Their seasons are turning into yawners. Although, I can't wait to see them pound Rockhurst again! If I hype and trash talk about Rockhurst again...everyone will know it is fake this time...last year, it worked.

I know Webbues sometimes hijack threads, I also know many times fans from other places mention WC then gripe the thread is hijacked. Let's have a little fun this year...

Let's have a little fun this year and keep a thread running and keep score of who actually brings WC into a non WC thread. Seems more times than not we dumb Webbies are baited into hijacking a thread by semi-expert fisherman

There are a lot of Webb fans on here, and I like that, but I really wish more fans of other teams would get on here. I like reading stuff about other schools. I go to the semo board all the time to see what's going on there. It's mostly about Jackson, cape, malden, and other semo schools but that's great. They all love their teams like we love ours.

There are a couple of old-time posters who are no longer on the board for various reasons (RIP Flo). Many of those posters used to post factual, interesting, clever, and even intelligent stuff. About 5 years ago the board was pretty much taken over by college football "discussion" (aka pointless, juvenile pissing matches). And, no, it hasn't been the same since. There is virtually no real discussion about HS football. The level of discourse is very low. It's not entertaining. I know many who still check the boards on a regular basis, but rarely does anybody comment, unless they are posting a job opening, etc. It is pretty much dominated by 4-5 people trying to insult other people's college football teams. Throw in some threads about Webb City, and the 2-3 times/year "public vs private" whining and excuse-making, and that is what's left.

Pretty much everything that you mention is no more or less talked about(save the CFB talk, which minus Veers posts, is about play/recruiting). I agree that there should be more High School talk. But there are a lot of regional sites out there now.
 
Did i ever tell you guys about my theory about why Webb City is good at football???

It is an old mining town, right? Everyone knows that mining towns make boys in high school tough. Believe me, i grew up in Ampipe, PA and we werent too shabby at football. Make the connections, totally makes sense. It has nothing to do with superb coaching, great facilities, and fantastic community involvement... it is the mining.

Just a theory... take it or leave it.

Yeah, I agree with Mr. Watson. I used to check this site on an hourly basis...sometimes minute by minute..
No a days, with all the useless "noise" being posted here, I go months without it.

btw...Randy Watson has had some classic posts on here....It's good to see him back.

I don't really care why. I'm just glad they are good. I am so damned glad they can beat those smug A$$es from Rockhurst that roll in like they own the world...not so much the players, but the fans and parents...of "priviledge" because they have upper middle class incomes that afford them the ability to pay for Rockhurst. I love watching you get beat...and even better that Webb City did it...they owned you in your own house...and they will rock your world when you go to their place this year. Smack that smug look right off their fans' faces.
