Before the pandemic struck the U.S., only five states—Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah and Washington—conducted their elections using a vote-by-mail system.

Funny, I don’t recall any huge scandals of widespread voting fraud in those states. Do you? Nope. There haven’t been any.
Anyone saying it leads to widespread fraud is lying.

Many California voters last week voted via mail and the republican took the seat previously held by a dem.

In Ohio, the state's March 17 primary was changed to allow all voters to cast their ballots by mail. Similarly, state officials in Maryland sent paper ballots to all registered voters for its special election in April seeking someone to fill the late congressman Elijah Cummings' seat.
AGAIN—no fraud to be found. Those were repub govs.

Governors in Delaware, Nevada, New Jersey, New York and North Dakota have said voters will receive vote-by-mail ballots for primary elections in June and July, and California Governor Gavin Newsom said earlier this month all California voters will receive vote-by-mail ballots for the general election in November.

Why don’t republicans like voter participation? Rhetorical question.

Deanna Swenson, a Clackamas County elections official, pleaded guilty to official misconduct and unlawfully altering a ballot. Swenson tampered with ballots by filling in blank spots left by the actual voters. Swenson was ordered to serve 90 days in jail and pay $13,000 in fines.


Augustus Stacker, Jr.

Augustus Stacker, Jr., of Belleville, Illinois, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of a violation of absentee ballots. He assisted in manipulating up to 27 fraudulent absentee ballots in a municipal election. Stacker was sentenced to 18 months of conditional discharge and required to pay court costs.

The point is how easy it is to cheat when you have vote harvesting.

Put the polling places in A Whole Foods store or Planned parenthood and we are all set.

I am against voting by mail. I think I could easily arrange to vote for a couple relatives who are never going to vote in Nov if all I have to do is fill out a request to vote by mail - Aunt Lucy in a rest home with dementia, nephew Billy who has never voted in his life, etc.
A better solution if crowded polling places is the problem - stagger the voting out for 3 days - on Tuesday people with last name A-H can vote, Wed I-P can vote, and Thurs Q-Z can vote - extend polling hours from 6am-10pm - put a gag order on media on reporting exit polls or projecting winners until after Thursday polls close.
As corrupt as our political system is, both parties will be stuffing the ballot box by mail. Much harder to cast a vote for someone else if you have to do it in person and show an ID.
