I just happened to hear on the radio the other day, that Viburnum was playing in the Black River League now? I'm an alum of Viburnum High School from way back, and this was news to me. When did they leave the Gasconade Valley Conference?

Yep, good move in my opinion. BRL has great tradition and more opportunities for younger teams to play. Viburnum is still in the GVC as well. Go Jays!

I don't get car sick...and I just got car sick thinking about some of those trips!
I've driven a lot of miles in that area. They've fixed a lot of the really bad curves and narrow bridges. But yeah it's still not for the soft stomachs. Lol
I traveled some of those roads with Fitz going to West Plains. Holy cow!!
Got car sick in the back of Doc Sago's truck on my only trip to South Iron.
Can't imagine a bus ride from Viburnum to Clearwater or East Carter!!! Pack a lunch, dinner and sick bag....

I had planned on coming back today to answer my own question, but it looks like you guys covered it. And we used to think the bus rides from Viburnum to Belle or Vienna were brutal... I don't envy those kids having to ride all the way to Ellsinore now, for sure!

I can't remember any time that Viburnum was in the BRL. But I could just be mis-remembering or I could just not be old enough.
They were in the BRL in the 80's I do believe possibly until the early 90's but have been in the GVC for at least the mid 90's. Great move for Viburnum!
