The rumors of the program's demise are unfounded, it has not been dropped. I believe there were eight wrestlers last year, but no more than six were elegible at any one time. There are some incoming freshmen who have been wrestling in the Jeff City and Fulton clubs, and a crop of younger kids coming up. Coaching stability has been the problem, all the other sports seem to do well with thier numbers.
