Talk about a pitching staff in total disarray... that's KC !He's been rough for them. But I know he did well for the Cubs, very well. Hated to see him go, but he wanted to start. Did well for SD. Crapped out in KC.....like Travis Wood. Yikes...

Moore should be fired for not selling everything possible. The fact that Jason Freaking Vargas could have been traded and a warm body would have been returned.....and he didn't do that? Should actually be burned at the stake by a mob of pitchfork-wielding fansTalk about a pitching staff in total disarray... that's KC !
I don't see that happening those because of where their budget is alreadyI'm looking at it this way....
They have an impossibly terrible pitching staff. Like....I don't know how you get this bad. However, they are objectively a few Stanton homeruns away from a 2nd WC spot. Will they get it? Would take an act of god..... but they are still there with that miserable staff. They need to find 2 more Dan Straily's. They can go pick up any combination Trevor Cahill, Alex Cobb, Nate Eovaldi, Jaime Garcia or Lance Lynn..... and they are already a much better team
He has not, but this was always his projection.... barry bonds, without the roids. And to be fair, he has been a 6 WAR guy twice. 2012(5.7) & 2014(6.3). Sitting on 6.0 right nowI don't see that happening those because of where their budget is already
And they are one Stanton injury or random decline away from being five games worse. You have to acknowledge he has never had a season like this before
If you followed them this season, they had the best record in MLB for the month of July. Consequently Moore decided to hold his cards. Then August came and well... you know. They could have received a nice ransom for Jason Vargas in July. Boston wanted him badly. When Hosmer, Moustakas, and Cain leave at the end of this season, I shudder to think what the future holds for them.Moore should be fired for not selling everything possible. Oh I followed. I enjoy the Royals. Was talking to a buddy about it, and he got pissed at me for even mentioning selling in July. He was ready for the world series. If you followed them this season, they had the best record in MLB for the month of July. Consequently Moore decided to hold his cards. That's a scary thought...They are going to be the Phillies for a while.....
I hate to say it. The positive is though, I have zero faith in the White Sox actually running things correctly. They will crash and burn like the Mets. So that is one team you can count on beating up on hahaThat's a scary thought...
I think there's a philosophical question about the injury risk the Cards can take with a player who is 20% of the payroll vs. 10% of the payroll. And also for a decade vs. 3-5 years. He has not, but this was always his projection.... barry bonds, without the roids. And to be fair, he has been a 6 WAR guy twice. 2012(5.7) & 2014(6.3). But to your point on decline/ injury, I guess that is why these GMs get paid more than us, to make these calls. Is the gamble of an injury or decline the best bet? Or is betting on a monster to hit 40+ Hrs the better option, but at a high price.
The real time to sell was November - March. Maybe May at the latest. If you followed them this season, they had the best record in MLB for the month of July. Although the Soler move didn't work out.....thats exactly what they needed to do. They can work out deals with a few of the guys, like Moose or HosThe real time to sell was November - March. Maybe May at the latest.
To be fair to Moore we don't know what the owner wanted here, but this team needed to make more trades like Davis for Soler.
They should have sold Hosmer in July. He's going to get too big a contract.Although the Soler move didn't work out.....thats exactly what they needed to do. They can work out deals with a few of the guys, like Moose or Hos
But to hold onto Cain? Vargas? Gordon(hard to move at this point, I know) ? Man..... that is rough
Hos will get paid. Him and moose seem to like KC though, so maybe you get lucky...They should have sold Hosmer in July. He's going to get too big a contract.
Cain is a good player but how much do you want to commit to a guy who will be in his age 32 season in 2018 if you think your roster is going to be gutted? He's probably not going to be a part of their next playoff-caliber team.
Hosmer will go to the highest bidder. Moustakas is a Cali guy... I could see him end up with the Angels. I do think that the Royals have a shot to keep him if they want to pay. Cain will make a great addition for some team. I still shudder to think that we will become the Phillies... LOL !Hos will get paid. Him and moose seem to like KC though, so maybe you get lucky...
Cain could have gotten them a few good pieces. Such a missed opportunity
It was strongly implied that David Glass wanted to go for it one more time with the current roster. The real time to sell was November - March. Maybe May at the latest.

LOL... You may have a point there. If I were 82 I might like going for it more than rebuilding.
