Adrian won't get past Ash Grove. Turnover prone and too many silly penalties.

How bad is the AG qb’s injury? He looked pretty gimpy after the game. Sat out the next defensive series but can back in on offense and only handed the ball off. Looked like maybe left ankle….

Unless St Vincent is injured, I think their rather convincing wins over Valle and Perryville although early are more impressive than any other class 1 victories. Valle destroyed Bowling Green, who is real impressive. I know it's comparing apple to oranges, and that is to take nothing away from anyone else. Also, how many of the St Vincent kids are sons and nephews of the really great St. Vincent teams of the late 90s and early 00s?

Bowling Green has beaten zero quality teams.

As I follow C1 so little did you, perchance, attend the Ash Grove-Marionville close game? Would love to hear from someone how that one went.
I'm an Adrian guy. Not on the football staff but on the field every game. I have never seen an Ash Grove game and don't want to demean them. I'm speaking on a weekly observance of Adrian football. If teams are running teams they will have a long night against Adrian. And from what I've been told AG doesn't pass the ball much.

Adrian's only loss was to Warsaw on the final drive minus the Blackhawks (arguably) best all-around player. It's my firm belief Adrian wins that game if he's on the field. He's been back for several games and the guys have figured out their roles again.

It won't be an easy game. This district is a real gauntlet. But I think Adrian comes out on top. Part homer. But I'm also objective.

Why was the best all around player for Adrian out? Injury?

I saw them in person this summer, they are a top 10 class 2 team, not the best at all, but they run the veer with Coach St. Clair very well. Speaking of Quality Wins, name one for Adrian? The close loss to Warsaw ia a high mark and yes could have been a win with the best player playing but calling out Bowling Green while looking at the off records of Adrian is hilarious. Adrian is excellent too, not a knock on them.

I was at the StV/V game and I'm not taking anything away from St. Vincents, but I'd have to go back a long way to see as many screwups that V had. Maybe forced?

I have watched a couple of games BG was in. You can be impressed but I'm not. They play a bunch of bad teams then get smoked in the playoffs.

Rinse and repeat.

Adrian's best win is probably Holden? (Adrian put in the JV defense and offense in that game probably due to the cheap shots coming outta holden) If that program had some discipline they'd be really good!

Looking at 'records' is silly.
You know where the good football is.

I have watched Adrian, Ash Grove, and Marionville in person. IMO Adrian is the best of the three teams. Adrian is physical and athletic. They are big up front and play with pretty decent overall speed for Class 1. Marionville is a close second, but I don't believe they are as big or physical as Adrian. Ash Grove is solid, but they are not Adrian or Marionville good. QB is athletic and they have a pretty solid RB/LB. Just don't think they have the horses to compete with Adrian.

Other than QB iso, all they do is pass.

We had first hand experience in 98, still stings a bit.

They had some valle names at SV back then
SG public made some runs back then though

I don't think the Valle names fluctuated during that time. If you checked the phone book you would find "Ste. Genevieve names" in surrounding counties. Valle's hard times were with several coaches that failed to adhere to things that were working. Judd reinstalled those practices.

In the game I saw a couple of weeks ago, Ash Grove was pretty one-dimensional against Sarcoxie and was lucky to win.

Adrian by 3 scores.
