Unranked Naylor

They should have been ranked. I would say there isn't a class 1 team in the state who plays a tougher schedule than Naylor.

For the second year in a row, unranked Naylor has battled to the final.
Wg and Naylor had a great battle again last night. A hard fought battle by good hard nose teams. Good luck in the Championship.
Wg had a great run very proud of the great Girls Program that we have in The Grove. They will be back again next year competing as strong as ever.
There was no seniors on this team. We have a great group of junior high kids coming up in two years that may be as good as any that we've ever seen. So know this The Grove will be back soon in my opinion.

Hard to believe the folks that vote in the polls choose not to see who Class 1 Naylor is losing to throughout the season. They don't play many class 1 schools during the regular season, and the OFC Conference is all bigger schools than Naylor. It seems to be OK for a team like Chaminade boys to lose 5 or 6 games to some 'big time' schools their size but not ok for Naylor to lose to class 3, 4 and 5 teams in this area AND IWA.

Don't think you can compare these two

Not comparing them against each other. Just saying when Chaminade loses to a team that is bigger or better than they are it doesn't keep them from being highly ranked in the state polls. Naylor's only loss to a class 1 team was in the state championship game. They beat many larger schools throughout the year and most had pretty good records on the season, yet Naylor was penalized by the voters for losing to bigger schools and never got in the top 10. I guess they proved once again they belonged.

Rankings don't mean a lot with the playoff system in Missouri. I would rather be not ranked and make it to the Championship game than ranked and stay home.

Yes we all know rankings don't get you there, but a team like Naylor not even showing up in the polls is pretty sad. They play a tough schedule to help get them to Columbia but get NO credit from the voters for doing so. Apparently all they see is wins and losses, unless it's a boys team that loses 4 or 5 games to some really good teams. Naylor played in the championship game last year and lost by only 3 points. They didn't lose a bunch of kids from that team and did not lose to a class 1 team again all season but never made into the top 10. I would be interested to know why they couldn't even get into the top 10 this season after what they did last year and most of their players returning.

The reason they aren't ranked is because they never send in their results or updated record to the MBCA. It's hard to vote for someone that you have no record of what they are doing throughout the season.

Every single time the poll is posted, the poll chair is listed with an e-mail and a request to share info. Have you done so? Coaches are asked to join the poll. Anyone in your area join? If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Sure I have all the stats for every team in southeast Missouri and I send them in all the time.

How will Naylor be the next 2 years since they moved up to Class 2?
They only lose one player I think so they will still be pretty good and they have always played a lot of larger schools in the regular season. Not sure how the playoffs will set up for them. Neelyville will be in the same district with them but they graduate a bunch of kids this year. Naylor moving to class 2 will most certainly help Oran come sectional time. In class 3 Twin Rivers and Saxony will be in the same district but both lose a LOT of players so who knows how that district will go next season or who that district winner will meet in the sectional game. I guess AV would be safe bet, they gave Saxony a very good game in their district final this season.

Well, at least it's a game further down the road if they would meet next year. And Fred, it obvious that UFO doesn't check mosports.com, isn't it?
