Compare 100-year-old Airmen Mcgee to Colin Kaepernick. A man that fought for his country during an era prior to civil rights and a spoiled brat football player who won't stand for the flag or National Anthem. A man that shot Nazis in 1943 and came back to a country where he was shoveled into discrimination. Please compare.
Even though he was fighting for a country that was actively discriminating against him, he surely believed the promises of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights would eventually be upheld. And that America was and is a great force for good in the world.
To me, this is a repudiation of the race-based politics happening right now.
