I received a call after the Sikeston-Troy game last Wednesday evening concerning the Sikeston-Troy game. The confidant explained to me Troy came to play and placed a major challenge on the Sikeston Bulldogs but Sikeston did not fold under pressure. Troy hit a big basket to get with in 2 points during 4th quarter but the Bulldogs continued to hit big baskets and pulled away to win by 13 points.

The information I received was Sikeston 15-0 are as good as advertised and very well could win a class 4 state championship this year. I ask if he though Ritenour 11-5 could hang with Sikeston. The answer was Ritenour could not defeat the Sikeston Bulldogs without a Troy-like effort and the Ritenour Huskies most likely will not play as hard as the Troy Trojans. It sounded like Ritenour could defeat Sikeston with an "all out effort with believing "but anything less the Sikeston Bulldogs will claim their second Zumwalt North Tournament championship in a row.

I have been planning on attending the St. Louis University High-Webster Groves game tonight @ Webster in front a of sellout crowd however new interest could have me driving to the championship game @ Zumwalt North.

I've gotta ask if the Sikeston Train and the Rockets brothers will be @ Zumwalt North tonight?

I will be there. Rocketsbro will not be. I'm not sure about Train....as I don't know his identity.

Metro...please introduce yourself to me. I have on a black sweatshirt with jeans. The sweatshirt has an S in the left chest. I will be with two blondes (my wife and her friend). We will be sitting probably hear half court. I am the one who can whistle obnoxiously loud. Ha!

Sorry Rocket, I ended up going to the Webster -SLUH game. Webster won 62-50. I received a call concerning the Sikeston -Ritenour score a few minutes after the game ( 97-81 ). I'm getting reports that the Sikeston Bulldogs are for real and the record proves it. Cape Central appears to be the competition in class 4 district 1. Cape Central had a big win over Poplar Bluff tonight.

Rocket, I will try to make one of Sikeston's game before the end of season.

Sounds good, metro. You missed an exciting game.

Cape Central will definitely be a test for the Dogs. We play Cape Central...at Cape....on Feb. 12.

This could be the game I see the Sikeston Bulldogs. This is only about an 90 minute drive for me.

Ciri...those walls are RIDICULOUS! Not only are they orange, but the orange colors on the wall and floor don't even match! Ha!

It can burn a hole STRAIGHT through a retina! Ha!

Rockets the Cape Central-Sikeston game on 2-12-16 will be in Sikeston. Cape Central was defeated by Cape Notre Dame this week. Notre Dame lost 10 plus players from last season's final four appearance. The coach @ Cape Notre Dame appears to be @ the top of his game. I'm guessing the coach @ Notre Dame is considered one of the top 3-5 coaches in Southeast Missouri. If Notre Dame wins class 4 district 1 this year, he could name his coaching position ( Opening only ) and demand a top salary for Southeast Missouri basketball coaches.

What say you SEMO?

Ok Rockets we now know Metro's name. He's an ND grad and his name is Mr Unterreiner haha!! Metro, ur son's a pretty good coach but I think all dad's tend to overestimate their sons' potential. Dial it back a bit and u'll be just fine!! And go ahead and show up at Sikeston Fieldhouse feb 12, you'll see a real barnburner!!

How can this a be Barnburner ? Sikeston put a " Clock Job on Cape Notre Dame earlier this season. I 'm guessing the Sikeston Bulldogs have improved during the season. Notre Dame has improved but I do not see this as a winnable game for Notre Dame. I'm guessing your reasoning for a close game between Sikeston and Notre Dame is " What happen in class 4 district 1 " last year. I still don't understand how Cape Notre Dame defeated Sikeston in districts last season after Sikeston put a ' Severe beating " on Notre Dame during regular season.

The " Indicators " are in place for the Sikeston Bulldogs get the win in easy fashion however Class 4 district 1 is whole different thing as the competitors must step forward to claim victory.

Metro....please show up in Sikeston next Friday. You will get a GREAT seat. You will be able to sit...literally...anywhere you want...if you can break into the Fieldhouse.

The game is AT Cape Central. Not sure where you got your info, but he/she is incorrect.

Ciri....if Mr Unterreiner shows up in Sikeston next Friday wanting to see a hoops contest, he will need to go to the Y to see some pick up games.

I get a lot of information on semo.com. They have Cape Central @ Sikeston on 2-13-15. Semo.com does not have the 2016 schedule up for this year however if I move the schedule forward one year, Cape Central will host Sikeston on 2-12-16. I hope to be their with a couple of friends from St. Louis.

I usually read the " Scoreboard and the semo.com basketball forum " to keep up on the latest from Southeast Missouri. We have a lot of basketball fans from SEMO in St. Louis that still follow basketball down there.
I attended the Webster-Parkway West game last week. I believe Sikeston's opponent in the Quarterfinals will be Westminister who is on a major winning streak ( Probably 23 games by the Quarter-finals ) and Parkway West appears to be playing down and disinterested.
It appears I hit a nerve ( cirithungel17 ) when I game credit to the Notre Dame coach for winning class 4 district 1 and finishing third in the state last season. I enjoy recognizing accomplishments by our high school coaches when I can. Coaching is a tough profession with few rewards.

Now wait a minute, Rocket explained to you what happened last year in regards to Sikeston beating ND and then ND turning around and winning the district. You said at the time that you understood but now you don't understand?

Haha Metro i was just teasing you, no harm intended! PLEASE stop at Cape Centrals gym next friday, we guarantee you thats where the game's at! And yes it will be a barnburner cuz we are bitter rivals with Cape Central and its always competitive mo matter what the records are. Cape's got Al Young who is arguably the best athlete in the area, he signed this week with SEMO to play football but im sure he could be a star for the hoops team too!
Notre Dames coach inherited a buncha seniors last year that had practically been the starters for three full seasons. So they were primed to do what they did regardless of who coached them. This year they are 10-10 so I was kinda giving you a hard time about ur laudatory comments about the coach. A .500 record is kinda mediocre in my book haha!!

mfloyd, Sikeston had the # 1 seed in class 4 district 1 in 2015. The seed meeting were about 2-3 weeks before the district started. I have been informed by " Trusted Confidant " that no Sikeston roster players quit or was removed from the team after the seed meeting therefore we must make the call that the Cape Notre Dame's win over Sikeston was indeed an upset however there were reasons for the upset that was beyond the control of the coaching staff @ Sikeston.

Cirithungol17 posted that Notre Dame had 10 plus seniors on their class 4 third place finish last season.. If you read some of my post concerning winning districts. I have stated it's easier to win a district with " Senior Leadership " then having freshmen and sophomore as the top players. I believe it was the " Senior Leadership " @ Cape Notre Dame that caused the big upset over the inexperienced but talented Sikeston Bulldogs.

The MSHSAA will have 16 district winners in each of our 5 classes in a few weeks. I will make the call that we will have 15-20 or more upset wins in the 90 districts across Missouri.

This is messge to the Rockets, Where will you guys be seated tonight @ the Sikeston-Poplar Bluff game? There is a chance that I could be @ the game tonight. I will be in the Cape today around 3:00 PM. I might drive down to Sikeston after my meeting. Will you be wearing big " S " with the blondes ?

The more you post the more it becomes clear to me that you simply have no clue what you're talking about. Notre Dame beating Sikeston in the district last year was not an upset. They were the top seed. They were senior loaded. Sikeston was the third seed. They had a tumultuous season, losing five players from the start of the year, including three starters. They became a young team, but finally began playing well and putting it together the last month of the season. Yes Sikeston won the first game against Notre Dame in December, but THAT was the upset. ND didn't show up to play that night and Sikeston made them pay. Sikeston gave it their best shot in the district but had nothing left in the tank after an intense semifinal game against Cape Central the night before and ND was locked in and ready to go. But few people outside of Sikeston probably thought Sikeston was going to defeat Notre Dame on that night, or at the least knew it would be a very, very difficult task to bounce back one night later.

And by the way, Sikeston does not play Notre Dame tonight. They play Poplar Bluff at home. You are welcome to come if you can get a seat. There will be 3,000 red-clan fans there you might be able to squeeze in with.

You may need to change your sources if your "confidants" are giving out that kind of info. I'm my own confidant. I am THE confidant when it comes to Sikeston basketball. People have questions about Sikeston, I'm the one that gets asked. Not some "unnamed source."

mfloyd, after talking with one of my ' Confidants " this morning concerning Sikeston basketball issues, I was informed that you, mfloyd are indeed the man when it comes to basketball issues in the Sikeston-Cape area. Keep up the good work as I always enjoy reading your accurate posting.

Indeed, so you can see why I may cringe and get irritable when you post so many inaccurate and untrue statements.

metro....I was at the game last night. I'm sorry, but I just now saw your post. I will be in Cape next Friday.

Thanks Train, We have three weeks before districts. The indicators show the Bulldogs 19-0 rolling into districts and beyond.
