The departure of traditional powers Brookfield and Clark County created a new competitive mix a season ago wtih Putnam County and Schuyler County each finishing with 4-1 league marks and Rams head coach Jason Melnick earning conference coach of the year honors.

The 2011 Tri-Rivers race will look different once again, including a new head coach in the league and fresh faces to replace many talented seniors who filled the all-conference rosters a season ago.
Let's take a quick look around the Tri-Rivers Conference.

MOsports.com Predicted Standings

Putnam County-- Putnam Co. is much stronger due to a great offseason", commented head coach Wade Auld who starts his second season at the helm. "Returning QB Brett Thomas is a strong leader and has exceptional quickness. If the Midgets can turn the close games that we lost last year into victories it should be a great year."

Schuyler County-- "We are building off a successful season last year", commented head coach Jason Melnick. "Planning on doing the same with more successful steps in the process." Dakota Schmitter RB/LB 5'9 190 SR. Tad Anderson WR/DB 6'1 180 SR. Garrett Wilson OL/DL 6'4 225 JR. Austin Ridgeway C/DL 5'9 215 SR. Michael Seaton DB 5'11 180 SR. Joey Antal OL/DL 5'11 200 SR. Kyle Spieser OL/DL 6'0 230 SR. return as top players for the Rams.

Scotland County-- A playoff appearance a season ago, the Tigers have high hopes in 2011 with many talented players returning including five members (listed below) of the all-conference team.

Milan-- Head coach Jon Dabney battled to keep his job last fall and he will again lead the Wildcats this fall. The defense will be solid with the return of defensive tackle Mason Thompson and defensive end Codi Fordyce (6-4 225) returning.

Knox County-- Alex VanDelft takes over as the head coach of the Eagles football program. The Eagles finished 3-7, 1-4 in league play a season ago. Senior running back Leighton McCabe(5-10 165) returns at running back and is one of the most exciting players in the league.

North Shelby-- In his second season head coach Josh Brummit hopes for a healthy squad and the chance to improve on the 0-10 mark from a season ago. The return of John Stoneburner(6-3 160) DB/WR one of the top returning players in the league will help.
