Transfer Portal/ Extra Year Effect of Recruiting?

I know in the other sports with much smaller roster sizes it has wrecked it for high school seniors last year through probably the next couple.
Are you guys seeing the same in football? I know football uses the freshmen redshirt format so I wondered if the transfer portal and extra year were affecting football as much. Also, there aren't as many places for football kids to go to on the smaller schools since they don't offer football so are there "prep" schools like basketball is using or are kids being walk-ons?

Football recruiting is being affected big time. Non 4 and 5 star guys that would normally be offered from some big time schools are being told to "wait and see" . Between the transfer portal and extra year.. its a whole new ballgame.

Ole Nick Saban was crying about the NIL and the portal today. Seems some schools are buying transfers. And I thought a free market was always preferred.
Bama and Clemson bag men now have some competition. I love it.

they have competition from about a dozen schools, same as always. you will have bama, usc, ohio state, ou, and about 6 other schools who can realistically shoot for the national championship, NIL money or not
