thoughts on Westminster Christian(24-5)

Westminster has won nine successive games and 15 of its last 16. Junior point guard Aaron Cook is a talented offensive player. I sat with Division I asst. coaches watching him tonight. He has a bright present and future.

He leads the Wildcats with 17 points per game and has a variety of offensive skills. He can get the rim nearly at will and knocks down open jumpers. Also for the Wildcats, sophomore guard Cliff DeGroot averages 10 points while Steve Webb and Matt Weber average more than 8 points per game.

The Wildcats have a talented back court that leads the way, while they have a front court strong enough to get them to Columbia.

I saw Westminster play in the Washington Tournament, they are good but I can't see them winning the class 4 state championship. After attending the Borgia-Rolla game tonight, Rolla could be the favorite to win class 4 this year. Rolla is fundamentally sound and fun to watch. Rolla could have a problem with size and length but everything else is " Off the charts ". I believe Rolla will play Springfield Hillcrest in the quarters next Satursday but I see Rolla moving on.

Cape Notre Dame should be a small favorite ( 1-2 baskets ) against a good Westminster team next Friday evening.

I am hoping " Southeast Missouri " can get a final four Rep in all five classes this year and Cape Notre Dame must defeat Westminster for this to be possible.
