I watched them play Roosevelt and here are my thoughts. Yes The Rough Riders were not very good but I seen some major positives from NC. There defense looked really solid. There offense has room to grow but the potential is there for this team to be a very good football team. They shall be tested against Farmington this Friday which will tell us a little more about this Raider team.

We played north county in 97 in the state championship game and I often wonder what's going on with their program. I hope this is a good year for you guys.

Thanks can Andy and yes that was the best NC team we ever had I knew all of them players like brothers. The program has been down for a few years but we are hoping there new coach Dave Dallas gets us back to where we belong and that's in the rankings every year. We will know more after Friday night if they are going to be a better team than we have had.

Those teams in the 90's were tough. I wish Stolzer and Ste. Gen. would have kept that series. Farmington as well. Unfortunately for Ste. Gen., we ended both of those series right before we could have gained a few "W" back.

The early to mid 00's teams weren't slouches either. NC program really went downhill and took a nosedive around '07 and it's been a carousel of coaches since then. Pushing Matt Haug out was the worst thing they could have done for the program. He's won everywhere he's been and turned around a horrible Potosi program that had only won something like 4 games in 5 years to 7 wins in his first year.

I don't know what years you are talking about. 2011 Potosi won 2 games and 2012 won 3. So except for those two years, they have won at least 5-6 games a year...

I'm talking about pre-2003. Potosi was a horrible program for years (as I previously mentioned, only 4 wins in 5 years or something to that affect). Fall of 2004 is when Coach Haug took over that program and they've been respectable ever since.

Maxpreps.com shows NC went 11-1 and 8-2 in 2004 and 2005. Then went 8-4 and 7-4 in 2012 and 2013. So it looks like there are other coaches who can win there.

They also made the Semi's in 2003. Losing to Ladue. They ran a certain coach off not long after that.

I remember back in 04 when NC was 10-0, West Plains had to travel there for sectionals. Lost to NC 19-7. Was a damn good game though. Next year in 05, Farmington came to West Plains with their 9-1 record or 10-0 whatever they were, and beat West Plains at home in Sectionals 23-21. I'll never forget that game. West Plains missed two FG in the second half that would've clinched the game.

I'm not saying NC never had a winning season after 2003. I said that the overall quality of the program went downhill around 2007. There were spurts of success between '07 and now, but not the sustained success that the program had from the mid-90's to mid-00's. There was a straight decade where the program was really solid with zero losing seasons
