Sliding is just pain silly! How does help you? Your glove is FARTHER from the ball NOT closer. If it bounces in front of you it will very likely go over you and turn into at a least triple. Stay on your feet, under control, and catch the dang ball and be in position to throw if you need to!If you're on your feet you can reach a ball neat the ground, if your on your backside you can't reach a ball down around your feet.

Bader is a .205 hitter on the season. No one plays good enough defense to belong on the field hitting .205 in a lineup with this many holes. If he was Cesar Geronimo on the Big Red Machine or Gene Tenace on the 1974 A’s, maybe.

he probably would have caught two balls that Fowler let drop and let the runs pile up. If Fowler ain't gonna hit at least get some more outs form CF.
