This is Thayer's year to finally beat Valle!...

Damn !! Congrats Valle on another state Title and yes I know they haven't won it yet but they will... I think its time to MAN UP and MOVE UP IMO.

The report I got was Thayer fans yelling at Valle players as they exited the field. Way to keep it classy Thayer.

Peeps that were at the game, just a few jerks with "recruiting" comments. There is always a few in EVERY

Every crowd, got cut off, sorry. It was an overall good experience. Thayer has a great program and there is much respect on both sides. Valle has their fair share of jerks also, trust me!

Valle hasn't won it just yet..............let's see how Skyline does next week and we may know better.

I don't think Valle is looking past Marceline, Skyline didn't blow Cass out today either. I would imagine both aren't looking past anyone

I heard some of the Valle -Thayer game on the radio. Valle had about 4 kids injured today, all seniors. The QB came back in, right away, probably just cramps, but the running back had to be helped off the field very late in the game. Don't know about the other kids.

Please tell my you realize that "moving up" isn't their decision. There is a procedure for determining class and a multiplier for private schools. The recruiting argument is tired. Besides, it really has more merit as it applies to basketball than football. Congratulations on not using the "A" in reference to their class, though. You passed one test, anyway.

I don't know that you can really say it's not their choice when they've almost halved the school enrollment since the multiplier was added, keeping them just under the class 2 mark.. And they are turning some away to keep it that way.. Whether it's solely for athletic reasons (probably) I don't know, but it's still presents itself that way.

Finally? Wasn't Thayer the last team to beat Valle? I believe it was 2012.
Thayer DID beat Valle back in 2008 on their way to the dome (not 2012), but the Bobcats have lost to the Warriors five times since then...

Just curious, who did they turn away and when was this? Never heard that one before.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff? You have no idea what's going on at Valle. Just throw things on the wall and see if it sticks. They would love to have more students. They would embrace moving up to Class 2.

Try to have some facts when you post. It's just reactionary hearsay that keeps you coming back to sites like this on the internet. Really sad and immature.

Valle Catholic in Ste. Genevieve is a program with tradition that goes back to 1928. Dads, sons, brothers, Grandfathers, Great Grandfathers, uncles, cousins. etc. all played football (and get a great education) at Valle Catholic. Very strong Catholic community.

They have lost a lot of students to Ste. Genevieve public in the last 20 years. Ste. Gen is an excellent school. The tuition at Valle is not what privates charge, but is still a reason why kids and parents now choose the public school when previously if you were Catholic (and SG at one point was 80% Catholic), you went to the parish high school. It is still a parish high school and there are about 10 left in the entire country. St. Vincent in Perryville is another one. Not a large regional school, like Cape Notre Dame or St. Francis Borgia in Washington or the many in St. Louis.

Valle's kids have the same names up and down their roster that have been on that football roster for nearly 90 years. There is nothing illegal or fishy going on bringing kids in just to play football.

I understand the perception, but it's just NOT happening. Be my guest to check it out. Most people complain from afar, but never really check into it. They want to believe what they want to believe. That's pretty sad.

One more thing. NO ONE works harder and prepares more intelligently than the Valle coaching staff. Hours and hours studying tendencies until game day arrives and they are ready for whatever the opposition does. There are coaches who work just as hard, but no one who outworks the Valle staff led by the head coach and his top assistant. The kids buy in and want to keep the tradition going.

It is something to be admired in my opinion rather than tear them down and hope this winning streak comes to an end. Some Webb people don't like Valle just because they want to take the lead in most State Championships. Valle kids and coaches could care less who has the most, but they are proud of their hard earned accomplishments over the last 35 years.

Thayer played outstanding, physical, physical defense Saturday and made Valle work harder for a W than anyone has in years.

However, Valle had 460 yards of offense, held Thayer to 56 plays with 263 yards. 169 came on 3 plays with the other 53 averaging 1.8 yards per play. Valle out first downed Thayer 26-6. The score is what it is at 17-10, but anyone who was there knew it could have been a lot different. Valle had an atypical 6 TO's. Hats of to Thayer for a super effort.

Valle has a lot of kids banged up and 3 or 4 of them may not be ready for a Marceline team that has shut out their last 7 opponents. Should be another good one Saturday.

I need to qualify myself in regards to the Valle coaches. I did not mean to imply they work harder than other coaches. The ENTIRE Valle staff, some of them unpaid volunteers, do a terrific job.

It's a PRIVATE school they don't have to take kids even though kids might want to go to school there or play ball there.. If you don't see the Difference between that and say a school like Lamar who has to take all kids incoming then I don't know what to say... They can keep there numbers down and anyone who thinks Different is clueless !!

I live in Ste. Genevieve. I know exactly what is going on. They would LOVE to have more kids enrolled. Where do you live and how do you know what you say you know?

Im sure they would love to have more kids enroll BUT that pay to go to school thing stops a lot of people... I've meet your Coach's and there all nice guys but IMO there's a BIG difference between Valle and any other small school... But hey if they like being the oversized fish in a small pond I guess go ahead but after a while 70-0 would get BLAH and I'd want a challenge !! Thayer almost got them and I was cheering they would.. Like I said congrats on the state title.

So why doesn't St. Vincent in larger Perry County do the same thing? How about Bishop McCauley in Joplin in much larger Jasper County? Both are Class 1.

You sound like a Thayer fan with a chip on your shoulder. The Bobcats did an outstanding job playing very physical football. They are well coached under Coach Webber.

The final score was close, 17-10. The truth of the matter is Valle had 200 more yards of offense, 300 if you take away 3 plays. Valle was knocking on the door all day and out first downed Thayer, 26-6.

To say Thayer almost got them is an overstatement. I really liked how hard and physically tough Thayer played, but it could have been 35-7 if Valle doesn't have 6 turnovers, most not caused by the physicality, but dropped passes, bobbled punt attempts, and one very poor call by the officials. Don't get upset. Not being arrogant. Just being honest.

No Not a Thayer Fan... I just stated my opinion they should move up ( Open Enrollment or Less money to go ) And take on a new challenge... Guess what I'm saying is If I was Floyd Mayweather I'd want to fight real fights not 6th Graders... I've seen Valle Play at least 4-5 times over the last 2 years they could move up and be fine. Its not just Valle either IMO schools Like Webb City Lamar should also its not just Valle :) And I know its based on number of kids in the school but Mshsaa should step in and make a rule were if you win 4-5 state titles in a row you should have to move up at least a few years.. I know its wishful thinking and dumb to others but I just don't get it.

This sounds like Democrat party thinking

Thanks for the info. Radio guys said it was 2012 and that was the last game Valle had lost. I guess it was the Penney game that was their last loss.
