The above three players are the three top scorers on class 4 Grandview 26-3 who will line up against Sikeston the #1 ranked team in class 4 and favored to win the championship this weekend in Springfield.
The Kansas City area as a rule do not get proper recognition in our statewide coaches polls, Post Dispatch and MoSports.

The Grandview Bulldogs have a very good player in 4-star recruit Jordan Latham 6'4" who has signed Northwestern of the big ten conference. Jordan ( 13.2 PPG ) has been hurt to start the season but is ready to impress in Springfield this weekend.

I'm also hearing Deandre Sorrells 6'0" Jr. ( 14.2 PPG ) is one of the biggest 3-point threats in Kansas City. I believe he hit 8--3-pointers in one game this season.

Mason Taylor 6'4" Sr. who averages 16.0 PPG is also having a banner year and could give Sikeston headaches.

Michael NWeke 6'4" Sr. --8.4 PPG

Kamoto Eze 6'4" Jr.--------7.4 PPG

Reggie Morris 6'0" Soph---6.9 PPG

C. Crooks-Jones 6'5" Sr----

What do you expect from the above players this weekend.

Grandview has split with Raytown South and lost to Liberty North who will be in the final four in class 5. I believe Jordan Latham did not play in the Liberty North defeats.

Sorrells is a quick guard who is a terrific outside shooter. Shoots a set shot with a quick release. Good ball handler, etc.

Lathon is a good leader, solid all-around player. A true point with good size who defends well, does a lot of good things. Rebounds, defends, etc.

I think Mason Taylor is an exceptional player. Good scorer, can play both guard spots.

Nweke is a nice all-around player, strong kid. Stepped up when Lathon was out.

Eze is a rim-protecting big who plays bigger than his listed height. Runs the floor well. Finishes around the basket. Good shot blocker.

Crooks-Jones is a D1 football kid. Tough, physical.

They lost to Liberty and Liberty North. Both are well coached, solid basketball teams. Liberty is more talented and have one of the state’s top guards in Jalen Lewis who can get hot and carry a team.

I had forgotten about the Raytown South rematch, one-point loss. Kinda surprising, but not really. South is a tough, physical team who always plays hard. Has some good individual players.

Grandview is solid, I could see them winning it all or placing fourth. I think Sikeston is the favorite, but the four teams are close IMO.

Obviously the Sikeston/Grandview game could be real good. I saw Grandview right after Christmas, sans Latham, who was out (I never knew why). But everybody seems to think he's one of the Top 2-3 players in KC. Overall excellent team athleticism. Was impressed with Sorrells.
Have not seen Sikeston this year, but have followed. I know their schedule has been good, it usually is. I don't think they'll out-athlete Grandview, though. Probably whoever takes care of the ball and hits 3pt wins. How much does anybody think Thatch/Latham will defend each other?

From what I've seen I would say Grandview is the #1 team in the KC metro regardless of class. What tonight told me (Groves blowing out Liberty in the 2nd half) is KC needs to schedule up a bit. The KS side of the Metro provides some good competition but we need more of KC's top teams playing in major NATIONAL tournaments.

Actually Liberty made the Final Four not North. LN is like Park Hill South in the KC metro, though. Never know what to expect night to night.

Ray South has some major muscle/bulk inside. Wish I knew anything about Jennings but do not.............
