The news out of Webster concerns Courtney Ramey the #1 rated high school senior in Missouri. Courtney had a injury of some type on his wrist that could be serious but the final results are not in yet. If Courtney is out, Webster is playing a schedule that they should not be playing according to sources close to the Webster coaching staff.
I was feeling bad for my friend Kent Williams the new basketball coach @ DeSmet. After watching his team, I no longer feel sorry for the DeSmet Spartans and Kent Williams. The Spartams are flat loaded with Superior talent and size in their 9th grade class. Yaya Keitha 6'9" freshmen will be big time could be receiving big time offers his freshmen year in high school. The Spartans have four " Ready Now " freshmen that could produce a top 3-4 in St. Louis very soon. Coach Kent Williams lives in Edwardsville, IL. but I see a move to west St. Louis County very soon to be closer to something that could be special. Sources have more help enrolling @ DeSmet soon! I'll see him play next week.
Webster can hold their own without Courtney Ramey. New comer Amorey Womack 6'1" appears to be the real deal with serious hops. Webster has players, period.
Confluence is very good as well. Leon Perry 6'7" and Brandon Fredrick could most likely start for any of the four teams in the Webster Jam.
I was really impressed with Sikeston. Fred Thatch was one of the three best players in the Jam in my opinion. Parker and Owen Long are very impressive. For me the twins have a high basketball IQ which means they know how to play basketball. The Bulldogs can rotate ten players without effecting their play if Fred is on the floor. Most fans like the way the Bulldogs play the game.
All four teams gave playing time to all of their players and I believe the competition helped prepare their team for the up and coming season.
I believe I saw a state championship tonight, maybe two.
