The FBI hooked up with that company when they paid the ransom in Bitcoin so the FBI could follow the money and they have recovered most of it.

I heard multiple times yesterday they got most of it back I don't know where these people learned math.
What happened this morning? The outage that hit all of the business's websites? Was that retaliation or a legit problem? I haven't heard anything but that was my first thought when I heard so many companies were having internet problems.

I don't look for these cyber criminals to let up. I believe it will get way worse.

We don't really know what companies have ever been affected by ransomware. Many pay the criminals and go on.
We need a law that these all need to be reported, if not publicly at least to a shared government entity so these attacks can be tracked and companies can then see what works and what does not. I get that companies don't want this public, but we need shared information so we can know exactly who and what we are up against.

I guess 2.3 million out of 4.4 or 5 million they paid is not bad. However if you read the criminals are saying this didn't happen.

If you read they many have reported totals around 4.4 to 5 million. However I am sure they are keeping the exact total pretty close to the vest.
It is like a robbery you are always told to say undisclosed or unknown amount of cash was stolen. You don't want to give totals that might encourage others to try the same thing.

Well that would make a good bit of difference in knowing how much of the total the FBI recovered.
