They will be VERY happy to get out of Milwaukee. We'll see if they have any fire left in their belly this weekend. I haven't been to a game in 3 years but have tickets for the Saturday game. Hope Cmart and Garcia have their best stuff Friday and Saturday and the Birds can kill any thought the Pirates have about catching. But then comes the playoffs and another shot for them to spoil the Cards great season.

If they don't take 2 of 3 from the Cards this weekend they are in serious trouble.

They need a sweep, 2 out of 3 only gets them to 5 1/2 out. Barring a total collapse they will still be in the playoffs and will be very dangerous if they get there. Heck they won't even have to play the Brewers in the post season. :p

You boys really know your stuff. St. Louis can't even hit J.A. Happ. If the Pirates beat the Cubs, Matheny and company will be one series and done.

If the Pirates do beat the Cubs and play the Cards in the divisional round, the Cards will have home field advantage. It's quite apparent that Pittsburgh can't win in STL. It must be the water....

Plenty of "ifs" to go around this time of year. Today the Pirates couldn't hit a guy that has pitched about 10 or 12 games in the last 2 years. We'll see how the playoff match ups turn out, but the best the Bucks can do now is leave town in the same position the held when they got there, 5 1/2 back with time running out.

Quite apparent what? Your punch and Judy outfit can't hit Cole either. Cole is outhitting your whole team tonight. Looks like the Pirates are taking two out of three they don't fear your team. We are family.

2 out of 3 if they hold on and they'll still be 5 1/2 back. You don't just have to beat the team in front of you, you have beat everybody now. The series in Milwaukee was a big blow for them, but all you have to do now is get in the playoffs and everything is even again.

The Pirates don't have to win the division to beat your team in the playoffs. They are proving to themselves they can win in your house. Happ and Cole have dominated you.
The Cardinals do not want to see this team come playpff tme. Let's see how popular Matheny is when he gets out managed by Hurdle in the playoffs.

Who wins what the rest of the way ain't gonna mean much since this division will be well represented in the playoffs. There is a considerable difference in being out managed and out hit. Why on earth would Hurdle NOT start Aramas Ramirez against the Cardinals every time they play? That dude has killed Cardinal pitching for years and it didn't matter who was on the mound or who was managing.

Pirates are now 8-8 vs STL and have home games left. My money is on Hurdle in the playoffs. Mike Matheny doesn't even have someone as fast as Wong bunting for a hit against the shift. That team can't play small ball. Hurdle is a better manager

So why is he well under .500 in the division? You have to beat teams besides the Cardinals if you wanna win the division. The Cardinals win some way besides hitting a lot of HR's, so I guess they play some kind of small ball. Oh their pitching has been pretty good all year too.

We have now lost 3 out of 4 and that concerns me more than anything else. Teams win and lose games not MGRs
