I'm posting this for no other reason than pride. My son coached his first game as a student coach last night in Iowa. It's a little Class 1 school near Oskaloosa. He is the offensive line coach. They lost. He called me on the bus and talked my ear off about how hard his kids tried and what they needed to work on and how he could see them improving.
Let's never forget this game turns boys in to men and teaches them lessons about character that a few select players get to pass along to the players they coach. Next year he is hoping to teach and coach in Southwest Missouri when his student coaching and teaching session is over. This game makes a difference. Let's remember that. Go Warhawks.
