I am on Webb’s turf about every week. Seems like it’s a lot softer than our old Bermuda grass field
Yeah I’m respectfully calling bullshit on that I’ve played many a game on that turf and before when it was grass. Not even close how much safer grass is. What each school should do is like what Aurora does, or at least used to do. Have the FFA gardening division take care of the the sports fields. I could have slept on that field like a baby.
I love it when DB,s get up and pound their chest hard because the WR dropped a catchable ball and DB no where around
Have you played on it since the new field went down with the Anti-Concussion pad underlayment? Was a $75,000 (if I remember right) upgrade
I could see the turf increasing ankle/knee injuries because shoes just don't slide on it. I would think concussions due to hitting the turf with your head would be less exp in winter when the ground is froze hard as a rock
We played a youth game at East Newton this week in the rain. I was more worried about our kids drowning.....
Well last week at Webb we had a 5th grader start going knuckle junction on an opposing player,,,biker dad then biker mom came down out of the stands and got involved, Then they went and recruited the rest of the biker gang to help and looked like all of Webb PD was called in to separate adult participants
Heck of an example for grade school kids, but I am going to have to start going on Sat it sounds exciting!!
