Teams as great as the SEC teams should be able to overcome anything and everything to win
I’d venture a guess most of the SEC folks are completely focused on getting better for the 25 season, and not on winning a scrimmage while on vacation.
I did say most. Some are flexing about their bowl game hardware. He’s the perfect face of the lol bro program.
I am a Mizzou fan and glad they won their game. Just not a fan of so many of the SEC people that think their conference is the greatest thing ever. A few years ago they were dominant. But today not so much. They win some, they lose some, same as the Big 10 and others.
When the SEC wins bowl games we are told they are the best conference and when they lose bowl games they say bowl games don’t matter and they are meaningless. It’s tough to keep up with.

The reality is some programs have adapted to NIL and the portal and some haven't. They all will eventually.
Bowl games are not a good gage anymore, especially with the transfer portal and so many opting to sit out before the NFL draft.

Alabama typically doesn’t do well in bowl games not associated with a national championship.
They are the best conference ever in football. I’m not sure how that’s even debatable. CPI, Saragin, H2H REGULAR season, H2H playoffs…hell, any actual measurable that means anything will show you that. I’m not a Mizzou honk that jumps on the back of the conference to prove my teams worth, but the conference is clearly better.
There is no chance Texas loses today. GA could but if they had Beck it would be a no shot either.

P.S. Mizzou was down to their 3rd string wideouts and some walkons. The dude that caught the last ball for the first down made his first career catch. If UK had talent(or made a bowl game) they'd know about opt outs.

It’s hard for me to wrap my head around ND or PSU being in the National championship game. Neither are bad, but man.
The SEC is the best conference in football, but the Big Ten is close. The SEC coaches are the biggest divas in football, and 2nd is a long way away.
I can't blame them for trying to politick their teams in, frankly it's part of the deal nowadays. But I will absolutely relish in their failure bc of said politicking. If you're gonna display the audacity and self aggrandizing that guys like Lane Kiffin and Kirby Smart do, then you owe it to yourself to prepare and treat every game as importantly as you treat yourself. Otherwise, that self importance is a just sweater you're wearing seasonally, and you ain't really about it. This is goes for the supporters of those teams and the conference as well.
Now, I know Lane and Kirby are truly about it. Lane actually had his team tuned up for Duke, and Kirby's record speaks for itself. Also I watched Shane Beamer try to fight Bret Beliemma on the field so I can tell it meant a helluva lot to him. But those coaches and fans still need to come get this crow, the SEC shit the bed in a lot of big time games this bowl season. Particularly UGA, Bama, and the Cocks.

Don't let Beamer's antics fool you. He's just an all-time spoiled brat D-bag. That's all those antics were about.
It was such a hilarious fit, and Bielema's response to it made it even better, that was one of many very entertaining bowls this year.
I think at some schools NIL might actually end up saving the bowl season, I've heard several instances where money poured in to incentivize players to participate. The coaches already have bonuses tied to them, if the players do as well and the alums get more opportunities to network and advertise at these events, bowl season might get back to some glory day type stuff... could be a pipe dream though.
