They don't get any. They all worked through the pandemic and many of them got covid and had to use vacation time or not get paid when they were off. What's the issue with the paid sick leave?

Their job is not like most other workers.Like most other workers
People better stock upJust wait til RR workers go on strike in a about a week and see what happens to the supply chain. It appears they have dug in their heels over paid sick leave and the RR's aren't budging on giving it to them.
That's not true a lot of jobs don't have paid sick leave.....RR are paid a pretty good wage with a Good Retirement. I know 3 RR workers and they make more than their RN wife's who make 70K plus and they use the RR insurance cause it's better as well.In third world countries
That average ain't got a damn thang to do with maintenance of way workers. That has to be train crew guys. I heard they have already voted to accept their new contract offer. That's not true a lot of jobs don't have paid sick leave.....RR are paid a pretty good wage with a Good Retirement. RR get short term disability payments if they are out for more than 4 days and that can last up to a year with those payments. So really making that wage and you can't go 4 days missing a daily payment. We have to use Vacation time for our first 4 days of sickness, before our Sick time kicks in and we don't get paid like RR workers. I have zero sympathy for the RR.... can't the Dem's just replace the 115,000 RR with illegal immigrants at a 1/4 of the pay and no benefits?
Funny the Union rejected Joe's Presidential Boards recommendations.
I will say I will say I thought this was THE best contract offer I have ever seen overall but when I was working we never had sick leave either. I think they should have bit the bullet and ratified this one in the current climate of supply chain issues. Unless the RR's lock them out first they will be the bad guys for shutting down shipping again. That average ain't got a damn thang to do with maintenance of way workers. The guys on the track now would go over $40k a year at the end the current contract offered and that's after 3 years of NO new contract so only 2 years left of the 5 year deal.
I don't know who gets that disability payment you speak of, I've never even heard of it.
