According to CBP numbers somewhere in the 7-8 million range have entered our country illegally (catch and release) since the corrupt, demented Mr. Biden took the reins. And that's just the ones they counted, not the "gotaways" or the ones that were never seen, period.
No serious nation on this planet allows their borders to be ignored like the USA, the only explanation that makes sense to me is that it's being done on purpose.
It's odd that this issue seems to be finally getting some coverage in the MSM, makes me wonder if the Dems are orchestrating putting Sleepy Joe out to pasture before the next selection. It's not like he is actually running things anyway.

Maybe just my perception but it seems like the utter fiasco that's occurring down at the border is getting a lot more attention as we get closer to the next prez contest.

Nobody is really being detained the way I understand it, they are being "processed" and released into the country with a notice to appear at some immigration hearing that is years out. It's a mockery of our immigration laws.
Legal immigration is good, the more the better in my opinion.
What we have going on at our border is not legal and not good for our country.

Under Reagan, about 3 million illegals came forward and were granted amnesty, with Reagan's promise to "close the door" on illegal immigration with stricter border patrols and stricter penalties for anyone hiring illegal workers. Not nearly enough border agents were hired to stop the illegal crossings and Congress gutted the provisions on hiring illegals. We never "closed the door".
Honestly, the only solution I see is another round of amnesty for illegals already here (with a proper background check) and finally shut the door with a flood of new border agents, national guard, and military all along the border as well as drones and technology and physical barriers where appropriate. If we make it clear we are stopping illegal entry into the US, then refugees will stop congregating at the border. Set a number on incoming immigrants each month that we can efficiently process in a couple weeks.
The first step is to replace Biden with someone who seriously wants to fix the problem. The only thing preventing this is this bizarre obsession the GOP and hillbilly America has with trying to force Trump back into power. For the love of all that is good and decent NOMINATE SOMEONE ELSE.
Biden has asked for money to hire more border patrol agents and processors to get it cleaned up and this do nothing congress won't even give him that. They just want to complain for another year instead of trying to get it fixed.
For some reason that seems not to be the way the laws are written for whatever reason. I have no idea why there should have to be some special permission for the military to step in. I guess they couldn't do anything until they had actually crossed to border but Mexico really needs to step up and take of most of this before they ever get to the border. I've seen news footage of them standing and watching while they cut through the fence and did nothing!
The border is enormous. It is indefensible for the kind of border security some of you 'fraidy cats want...unless properly funded, which is the job of......anyone? Anyone?

I proposed that on here a couple of years back and got ridiculed. Make Mexico part of the good ole USA.
Station 10 man Army units every mile along the 2,000 mile border. 10 X 2,000 = 20,000.
We already have 380,000 Army troops stationed in the US, and over one million troops from all branches stationed in the US.
Not really. A simple barracks every few miles and run weekly supplies to them. I've said many times - what better place to train troops than deserts and canyons - similar to what they would see in the Middle East.
Train them to use a drone.

I am all for using drones and other means at the border but there will need to be border patrols nearby to apprehend migrants when spotted. To effectively stop illegal crossings esp in desolate areas, there will have to be boots on the ground to make arrests. We have troops stationed all over the globe. Why not put 20,000 along the border?

its' weird how the trumpers blame biden when kingorange didnt do squat to fix the problem.

What I heard is he wants the Border Patrol to be allowed to cut the razor wire in the case of someone in need of medical assistance while trying to cross. Didn't hear anything about removing it. He said a while back they should remove the big yellow boom thangs the Governor ordered them to put in the middle of the river.
